Product Associate

We are seeking a Product Associate to play an integral role in our product development efforts for Bankrate's business as we continue to develop our partner relationships and build new offerings. If you are passionate about personal finance, obsess over user experience, and have a strong desire to connect users with the right products, this role will be a great fit!

Located in downtown Detroit, Red Ventures has a fresh, fun, and creative environment you won't find anywhere else. As a Product Manager, you'll work with top talent including designers, engineers, product managers, and leaders on an exciting and fast-paced team.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Drive product efforts for Bankrate.com and act as the subject matter expert on the business

  • Work with software engineers, designers, and analysts to quickly iterate and launch A/B tests

  • Identify key growth and retention triggers and implement product features to increase user LTV

  • Contribute to product roadmap development based on a deep understanding of Bankrate's strategy, advertiser needs, market trends and the competitive landscape

  • Design functional specifications and be able to facilitate feature, resource, and timeline tradeoff decisions

  • Gather product requirements, support product development, and coordinate the development process for timely product and program launches

  • Communicate strategy effectively to a diverse audience including executive management and business partners

Requirements Include:

  • 2-3 years of experience in product management or a related field.

  • 1 year of conversion-focused experience.

  • Highly quantitative, analytical, and business minded.

  • Outstanding intellect, drive, and interpersonal skills and the desire to challenge the status quo.

  • Ability to make smart feature versus time-to-market trade-offs. Experience using data and metrics to back up assumptions and assertions of business value.

  • Proven proactive approach to product management, with strong follow-through, resourcefulness, attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Experience working on agile enabled teams.

  • Ability to thrive in a demanding, fast-paced environment requiring a high degree of productivity, adaptability, innovation and follow-through.

Education: BS degree in a technical field (e.g. Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent) is a plus.

Mgmt * Work with Subsystem leads, Multi discipline Project associates to elicit, create & document subsystems requirements. * Analyze & report relevant requirements, conduct clarification meetings with stakeholders. * Create, release, maintain subsystem requirements in Doors, Ensure relevant & adequate linkages. * Baseline subsystem requirements as relevant and necessary. Release requirements in release management meetings. * Understand and document changes, assess & document impact of changes with subsystem and component engineers. * Work with Systems Engineering, understand & receive Customer & subsystem requirements, align to ATDC Subsystem development WBS, and maintain this alignment and links constantly. Escalate / facilitate requirements misalignment and issues. * Support subsystem engineer in identification & Breakdown of Subsystem requirements to component groups, including Actuation mechanism, Clutch, Differential, Electrical, Controls & distinguish Pass through requirements, conduct design trade-offs & Integration. * Document Subsystem performance requirements, allocate component level requirements, including Actuation mechanism, Clutch, Differential, Electrical, Controls, SW, Control Modules, definition of component interfaces. * Understand Engineering RASIC, Stakeholders, Product Development Process, Engineering Deliverables and Sub processes, along with subsystems engineer, derive and coordinate requirements agree / disagree determination and continuous management with stakeholders. * Manage subsystem requirements & Change Management, Creating test cases & traceability to requirements with support of Requirements engineer. * Document testing of subsystems where required (Characterization, Calibration, limit samples, etc.) * Create & manage subsystem requirements open items list, prioritize list with subsystem engineer, escalate high priority open items as necessary. Report progress to relevant metrics. * Organize subsystem requirements reviews as necessary with relevant stakeholders to facilitate closure of requirements open items. * Support Peer Reviews with requirements & related test status overviews. * Actively shares learning and contributes to continuous improvement initiatives. * All other duties as assigned.
