Provident Bank, a multi-billion dollar NJ bank with branches in NJ and Eastern PA, is seeking an experienced residential Mortgage Sales Manager. This is a production position with responsibility for managing the sales team.

POSITION SUMMARY

Under general supervision/guidance, the individual plays a key role in managing the team of Mortgage Field Specialists who are responsible for the sales of the Bank's first mortgage products from the Bank's retail branches, self sourced industry professionals (i.e., realtors, attorneys, CPAs, etc.) as well as other Bank partners. These initiatives will focus on maximizing resources and driving efforts while motivating the sales team.

MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Recruit, train, motivate and develop mortgage sales force; evaluate performance/production of sales force.

Actively participate in sales/promotional/marketing of first mortgage products and initiatives; research and develop new mortgage products as the market commands

Monitors the industry's competition to include products, pricing and service; coordinate programs, products, industry updates to include compliance and regulatory changes.

Compiles data and generates reports/analysis including monthly sales commissions.

Interact with Bank wide colleagues such as Branch Administration, Lenders and Beacon Trust colleagues.

Make routine sales calls with field representatives to further develop outside referral sources. Conduct regular sales meeting.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Directly supervises mortgage loan sales force in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures. The includes interviewing, hiring, training and managing employees; planning, assigning branches and coordinating territories; appraising performance, setting goals, rewarding/disciplining employees and addressing and resolving employee concerns and customer complaints in accordance with the Bank's policies and procedures.

SKILLS AND TRAINING

  • Proven ability to manage/motivate a mortgage originations sales force.

  • Competent managerial skills as well as the ability to exercise independent/good judgment in resolving employee questions and concerns.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, i.e., business correspondence, reports, procedural manuals and forms.

  • Familiar with emerging trends and developments for residential lending to include the most recent changes to GSEs as well as CFPB relative to ATR/QM guidelines and compliance and regulatory changes affecting originations procedures.

  • Ability to effectively communicate and coordinate with internal operations staff to create and maintain a smooth customer sensitive back office that is compliant and timely.

  • Ability to attend meetings and/or participate at industry/Bank events outside of the office.

  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and complete in a timely manner.

EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree preferred/comparable experience will be considered.

WORK EXPERIENCE

Minimum of 5 years in mortgage sales management

Licenses and Certifications Expiration Date

NMLS registered.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Work is performed on the road and under general office conditions in a retail-banking establishment, with travel between offices.

Those present in a retail-banking establishment. In the course of working with customers, the employee may encounter abusive, aggressive or unpredicted threatening behavior. Must observe safety and security practices at all times. Also, those found associated with driving a motor vehicle.
