Position description

Staff producer/directors are responsible for all major video programs produced at Mayo Clinic. These programs are generally high-impact, high-visibility programs that reach Mayo's most important audiences: patients, staff, referring physicians, and clients. The Producer/Director is responsible for all aspects of these programs, from concept through production and final dissemination. This position demands creativity, self-motivation, and a high degree of production skill, coupled with the ability to manage large projects.


  • Bachelor's degree in Mass Communications, Film & Video Production or related field is required.

  • Five years of experience in corporate or commercial production is required.

Additional qualifications

  • The incumbent must be highly organized and able to effectively manage several programs simultaneously at various stages of production.

  • Requires excellent communications and problem solving skills.

  • Must be familiar with all video production equipment, and proficient in the use of editing systems and related graphics and effects software.

  • Most importantly, incumbent must be able to translate ideas of medical professionals into finished, presentable, videotape programs.

  • Must understand and be proficient in the complete process of program development from concept through distribution and billing.

Compensation Detail

Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum salary every 2 weeks is approx $2750.40, based on a full-time position.
