WIRED is looking for a video producer to develop and create original, engaging videos. We're looking for someone with a sense of curiosity and wonder about technology, a love of video storytelling, and strong editorial skills to back up creative content with deep research and reporting. The ideal candidate is a video journalist who can pitch, report, write, shoot, produce, and edit on deadline in a variety of styles and formats. The job demands solid editorial sensibility, strong production skills, and experience with the demands of multi-tasking and publishing video on the Web.
Requirements for the position:
3-5 years of experience in video journalism
Demonstrated success working in digital video, with a strong preference for producers of successful YouTube content
Skilled in building narratives through visual story telling
Experience with both hosted and non-hosted formats is a plus
Highly organized, with excellent communication skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
Ability to work independently and remain deadline-oriented
A passion for science, technology and gadgets
Technical requirements for the position:
Highly skilled editor in Adobe Premiere Pro
High level of skill with pro cameras (experience with Sony FS7/FS5 is a plus)
Working experience with After Effects is a plus
Research, pitch, interview, storyboard, and script video stories and series
Shoot interviews, b-roll and stand ups out in the field and in-studio
Setup lighting and sets for in-studio shoots
Collaborate with WIRED writers on pitches and scripts
Complete media management and organizational tasks associated with production
