This position is responsible for the management of the producer (agent / agency) licensing function of the Kemper Property and Casualty Division. This includes the management of all producer licensing staff. This position is required to develop and oversee processes and procedures to ensure compliance with state licensing and appointment requirements. This position is also responsible for interfacing with the sales, marketing and product departments to ensure all business processes are aligned with our business objectives.
Oversee the producer licensing function, including the day to day management and training of the producer licensing staff.
Develop, implement and monitor procedures and processes involving producer on-boarding, producer code set-up and changes, state licensing and appointment verification, as well as related producer terminations.
Responsible for assuring all appointments and terminations are performed in accordance with state laws and company policy.
Establish, implement and monitor unit quality assurance program to ensure compliance with designed workflow processes, policies and procedures
Maintain the integrity of the producer databases and records.
Review recent proposed changes by regulatory agencies to determine potential impact on Company processes and procedures related to producer licensing.
Assist with the implementation of regulatory and legislative changes impacting the producer licensing department.
Consult with business groups and the compliance / legal function to assist with the identification of resource issues and/or prospective process changes driven by strategic initiatives or regulatory changes.
Respond to and follow up on criticisms pertaining to producer licensing discovered in market conduct examinations and agency/carrier audits.
Works directly with appropriate personnel for producer licensing initiatives to understand, develop, define, create and maintain project objectives.

A minimum of 5 years of related management experience in an insurance company required.
Strong leadership, project management and relationship management skills required.
Understanding of property casualty distribution channels, particularly the independent agency channel.
Ability to work effectively across multiple levels within the organization required.
Proficiency with spreadsheets, database applications and document management
Demonstrated skills working with and drawing conclusions from data / management information.
Effective communication skills.
Ability to manage projects involving planning, coordinating and execution.
Strong attention to detail, documentation and organization skills.
