Essential Job Functions:
Promote trust and respect among associates.
Act in a professional manner and always display a positive attitude.
Create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important and appreciated by answering questions regarding products sold within the department and throughout the store.
Gain and maintain knowledge of products sold within the department and be able to respond to questions and make suggestions about products.
Assist with the preparation of produce platters/trays.
Unload produce trucks using a powered or manual jack (must be 18 years of age to operate powered equipment)
Inform customers of produce specials.
Recommend items to customers to ensure they get the products they want and need.
Adequately prepare, package, label and inventory merchandise.
Review/inspect products for quality and freshness and take appropriate action if needed.
Label, stock and inventory department merchandise. (this includes nutrition)
Clean produce, shelves and cases as necessary
Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
Stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads.
Adhere to policies and procedures pertaining to shrink, product dating, rotation, sanitation, and temperature logs.
Practice preventive maintenance by properly inspecting equipment and notify appropriate department or store manager of any items in need of repair.
Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and report unsafe conditions to store management.
Notify management of customer or employee accidents.
Report all safety risks, issues, and illegal activity, including: robbery, theft or fraud to store management.
Support company initiatives.
