The Associate Team Leader supervises all produce team operations and Team Members. The responsibilities are many, varied, and directed toward upholding Whole Foods Market Core Values and the company's goals. This position is for individuals training to become a Produce Team Leader.

Will do the following principle duties and responsibilities:

Successfully complete Produce and Floral learning checklists. Perform all duties and responsibilities of Produce Team Member and Supervisor.

Arrive to work station on time, appropriately groomed, dressed and ready to work; work all scheduled shifts and attend required trainings and meetings. Provide excellent customer service and regularly practice and model suggestive selling techniques. Practice courteous and proper etiquette when answering phones and pages.

Comply with all applicable state health and safety codes. Maintain clean and sanitary operating environment and ensure all sanitation requirements are consistently met and logs are being used daily. Complete spoilage, sampling, temperature, and sweep worksheets as required.

Receive incoming product using departmental procedures. Assist with developing, moving and replacing displays. Receive and process morning information from MDC.

Maximize sales potential through effective and proper procedures for prepping, storing, rotating, and stocking product. Maintain team policy and operating standards. Open and close department according to established procedures.

Support Buyers with ordering; maintaining appropriate back stock levels, processing invoices and returns and maintaining order log. Oversee team and resolve difficult customer situations. Be aware of customer flow and needs and direct Team Members as necessary to satisfy and delight customers.

Assist with resolving team concerns and communicate concerns to the Team Leader. Interview, select and train qualified new members in conjunction with the Team Leader. Schedule Team Members to cover all duties and ensure they follow through with assigned responsibilities within set labor guidelines.

Evaluate and document Team Member work performance. Attend regularly scheduled store operations meetings as necessary. Help to achieve and exceed margin and sales targets.

Assist Team Leader in analysis of sales, reports, and labor. Record attendance and tardiness. Communicate attendance issues or concerns to Team Leader and Store Leadership.

Support national, regional, and store programs. Support Team Leader in principle duties and responsibilities. Function as point person in absence of Team Leader. Perform other duties as assigned by Team Leader, Store Leadership and Produce Coordinator(s).

Must have the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:

Knowledge, skills, and abilities of Produce Team Member 1, Team Member 2 and Supervisor. Minimum 1 year produce experience or equivalent including extensive knowledge of produce.

Successful completion of all Produce Team Member 1 training checklists. Ability to sell proactively and communicate effectively with customers. Excellent interpersonal skills necessary for good customer and team relations.

Able to prioritize efficiently and delegate responsibilities. Demonstrated ability to properly use knives, forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, baler, and all other equipment used during produce preparation and clean up. Familiar with safety policies and procedures.

Capable of teaching others in a constructive and positive manner. Excellent communication skills and willingness to work as part of a team. Familiar with company purpose, policies, standards, and merchandise.

Analytical ability and proficiency in math. Demonstrated decision-making ability, leadership skills, and ability to prioritize. Ability to perform physical requirements of position. Ability to operate all necessary equipment. 40 hour availability; able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays as required.

Physical Working Conditions

Must be able to lift 50 pounds. In an 8 hour work day: standing/walking 6-8 hours, sitting 1-4 hours.

Hand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing & pulling. Work requires the following motions: bending, twisting, squatting & reaching. Exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals. Exposure to temperatures: <32 degrees="" fahrenheit="" (freezing),="" 32-40="" degrees="" fahrenheit="" (refrigerators),="">90 degrees Fahrenheit.

Adjusts and trims materials from components to achieve specified medical or dimensional characteristics. * Performs online go-not-go testing and inspection to ensure parts and assemblies meet production specifications and standards. * Packages finished assemblies or subassemblies in clear plastic bags.
