Procurement Summer Internship Program

Procurement interns at Rolls-Royce work collaboratively across business functions and with our external suppliers to ensure that we maximize value from our supply base. As a Group, Rolls-Royce spends billions of dollars with external suppliers on everything from engine components to IT systems, so supplier performance and supplier relationships are key to delivering overall business results

As part of our expert team, you'll build relationships that get the best from our global suppliers and work with international teams to make improvements at every stage of the procurement process, whether directly with suppliers or as part of our campaign to drive efficiency and effectiveness in all that we do. Our Procurement team are vital in ensuring we can continue to develop our world leading products and services and pioneer the power that matters.

The program

Over the course of 12 challenging weeks, our Procurement Summer Internship will immerse you in interesting projects, ensuring you gain invaluable hands-on experience. You'll complete one of several placement opportunities across different teams and learn what it means to work in areas like Buying, Value Improvement and Forward Sourcing. You'll also have the chance to work alongside highly qualified professionals and will benefit from their experience, support and expert knowledge of procurement.

What you'll do

You'll get a huge amount of exposure and experience in Procurement, completing a placement where you could find yourself delivering reports to the president of our business or delving into the status of every supplier contract. You might also play a part in developing purchasing strategies around how we source products in future or use your creative thinking to meet stretching cost targets.

Equally, you might hone your influencing skills and build your network as you strive with teams across the business to get more value from our contracts and improve our processes. Whatever your experience brings, you'll learn constantly. And, if you do well, you could be offered your first step to a career in procurement, with a place on our graduate program.

What you'll need

We want to see great communication skills developed through well-rounded life experience academically, socially and in any previous work situations. Able to apply your intellect, creativity and determination to contribute effectively, you'll work with integrity across every aspect of every project.

You'll be working towards a degree in Business Studies/Management, or Supply Chain/Logistics with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above. Flexibility is important, as you could be based at any of our sites.

To be considered, you must also be a U.S. Citizen/Resident, Asylee, Refugee or have permanent/indefinite work authorization. There is no visa sponsorship for this position.

Collectively, these businesses constantly strive to set standards others follow. The Rolls-Royce legal internship program offers law students an opportunity to gain valuable in-house counsel experience supporting a global business. Legal Interns will be monitored by in-house attorneys, interact frequently with other members of the legal department, research actual legal issues, assist in transactions (if applicable), and write memoranda regarding topics that impact Rolls-Royce operations. The internship allows law students to undertake specific projects relating to litigation, legal research, internal process management, and management of legal databases. Interns will also have an opportunity to participate in meetings with outside counsel and to attend appropriate Rolls-Royce business meetings. What we're looking for: * Well-rounded law students who have a sincere interest in the aerospace industry. * Diverse life experiences learned through family, work, school, or any other forum. * International experience preferable but not required * Must have completed at least 1L semester and prior to hiring prove a 3.0 GPA at an ABA-accredited law school after your first semester grades are available. * Qualified candidates must submit a cover letter and resume for consideration. * Must have a minimum 3.4 GPA from undergraduate degree. * Must be U.S. Citizen. * Positions of leadership and responsibility preferred but not required.
