Athletic Brewing is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Procurement Specialist to support our Procurement Team and lead buying activities on the West Coast. This role will focus on procuring Packaging, Merchandising, Point of Sale (POS) materials, and more. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong analytical and communication skills, and the ability to build and maintain great working relationships.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support Materials Requirements Planning tools across key Packaging categories. Drive great working relationships with planning teams to understand packaging requirements.

  • Lead and support Netsuite activities, such as, but not limited to, SKU item setups across Merchandising, Point-of-Sale Marketing, Packaging, and others. Work to identify and clean up the current SKU database. Utilize and improve upon current standard operating procedures.

  • Assist in identifying and capitalizing on untapped cost-saving opportunities via market analysis, supplier negotiations, and strategic sourcing initiatives (RFP). Driving productivity while maintaining high-quality standards and supplier relationships.

  • Works with the Warehousing team to ensure the accurate and efficient management of our overall inventory, including packaging, merchandising & point-of-sale marketing. Monitor inventory levels to ensure adequate stock levels are maintained while minimizing excess inventory and waste. Ensure days on hand (DOH) stock levels are met at all times, leveraging both in-house and external partners.

  • Collaborate with the Planning team to meet all domestic and international production needs by utilizing the MRP tools.

  • Manage Purchase Orders, ensuring POs are processed accurately and efficiently, and complying with the company's standard operating procedures. Communicates well with vendors to confirm order details, lead times & delivery schedules. Address any discrepancies, pricing issues, or quality concerns with suppliers promptly. Noting all specific vendor details within the company vendor scorecards.

  • Collaborates cross-functionally with internal stakeholders on production efficiency, waste reduction (in keeping with B-Corp standards), space optimization & quality control. Works closely and communicates well with production and quality control teams to facilitate smooth operations at both breweries.

  • Partners with compliance and design on packaging update projects; ensures we meet our timelines. Experience in a Click-Up project management tool is a plus.

  • Create and maintain processes and procedures to gather supply chain information and use that data to recommend potential efficiencies and optimizations across the Procurement team and other departments. Experience in business intelligence tools is required; experience with dashboarding is a plus.

  • Plays a key role in supporting informed decision-making within the sales & marketing teams by providing valuable insights, data analysis, and recommendations related to merchandising & point-of-sale predictability & inventory. The Specialist will work closely to identify opportunities for these categories and improvements upon current standard operating procedures.

  • Assist in developing and maintaining a robust, balanced supplier scorecard; drive a SWOT Analysis yearly and communicate results to leadership and external suppliers.

Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a related field preferred

  • Proven experience in Procurement, Inventory Management, Demand Forecasting, and/or Supply Chain Analytics.

  • Proficiency in data analysis tools, such as Microsoft Excel, Business intelligence tools, or other platforms

  • Keen attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with both internal stakeholders and external partners

  • Travel Requirements: Potential bi-coastal brewery operation visits and supplier visits.

  • Education: Note: If Applicant does not have a bachelor's degree

  • 3-5 years of proven experience which directly relates to this role will be considered

Job Details:

  • Location: San Diego, Onsite

  • Salary: Commensurate with experience

  • Base salary and opportunities for performance bonuses. Salary rate starting at $65,000/year
