We are seeking a motivated individual to join our Columbia site's Procurement team based in Gaston, SC. The ideal candidate for the Raw Materials Procurement Specialist position will be results driven and motivated by challenges; they will use their excellent negotiation, analytical research, and interpersonal communication skills to support the supply, inbound logistics, inventory planning, and procurement process execution of key raw materials, product for resale & packaging for the US & Canada sites.
Responsibilities
The Raw Materials Procurement Specialist will be reportable to the Raw Materials Procurement Leader and have responsibilities within the following key areas:
Procurement Process:
Generates purchase orders for assigned materials and ensures compliance with procurement policy
Reconciles costs monthly with the Cost Accounting team and raw materials strategic procurement
Supply Chain Execution:
Responsible for inbound logistics to USA / Canada for assigned raw materials; rail, truck, container, barges.
Defines and maintains suitable site inventories for aforementioned raw materials
Effective execution of contract obligations for assigned raw materials to maximize value
Works closely with the sites, supply chain, carriers and suppliers to ensure proactive, accurate and timely information sharing and contingency management
Coordinates with sites & supply chain to ensure proper packaging supplies are planned and stocked.
Utilizing S&OP process successfully drives demand and procurement/inventory plan for assigned raw materials
Effectively manages the sale of by-products to enable best pricing while ensuring product moves off-site
Supplier and Internal Process Improvements:
Identify & address modes of failure
Supports and develops supply chain improvements
Skills & Qualifications
Preferred background and experience:
Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain or related field.
Solid negotiation, interpersonal and analytical skills
Ability to operate efficiently in a fast-paced, challenging environment
SAP Knowledge preferred
Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint
