Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Under direct supervision, plans sourcing of goods and services to support manufacturing, field operations, technology, or project management strategic plans at the plant level.

  • Complies with and executes Category Management strategies in accordance with policies and procedures.

  • Issues purchase orders in response to material requirements established by manufacturing, field operations, or projects. Implements agreements for local procurement of goods and services not covered under Category Management.

  • Creates request for quotations (RFQ) and organizes competitive biddings from various suppliers to obtain the best quality, delivery, and price for goods and services.

  • Assesses supplier performance.

  • Job tasks, correctly performed, impact indirectly on cost containment, efficiency, profitability or operations.

Qualifications :

  • Completion of an undergraduate degree in a technical, business, or similar discipline required.

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in procurement or production environment.

  • Advanced procurement certification preferred (CPM, etc.).

  • Purchase to Pay knowledge is desirable.

We ask employees to be present in the office at least three days per week.</p><p>Are you ready to bring the right energy to Petrofac and help us deliver a better future for everyone?</p><p>JOB TITLE: PROCUREMENT SPECIALIST</p><p>KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:</p><ul><li><p>Work for supply chain businesses to procure various materials for the company's products.</p></li><li><p>Spend time researching and finding suppliers that produce quality items within the business' budget.</p></li><li><p>Must ensure that all the products follow this business criteria and specification list.</p></li><li><p>Responsible for gathering and preparing documents like quotes, proposals and purchase terms and conditions from suppliers for their supervisor to review.</p></li><li><p>Once suppliers are hired, the Procurement Specialist will carefully analyze and monitor them and will record their performance.</p></li><li><p>Answer any questions or address concerns by the suppliers.</p></li><li><p>Manage multiple projects at one time. The ability to plan, delegate and evaluate progress toward goals is necessary for managing these projects.</p></li><li><p>Negotiate vendor contracts, so they must understand price points and be able to negotiate effectively.</p></li><li><p>Strong verbal and written communication skills to determine their company's product needs and to create constructive relationships with vendors.</p></li></ul><p>ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:</p><ul><li><p>A minimum of a bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Logistics or Supply Management.</p></li><li><p>Negotiation skills</p></li><li><p>Must also have good analytical skills.</p></li><li><p>Communication Skills.</p></li></ul><p>Additional Information</p><br> Petrofac Houston TX
