Responsible for the overall procurement, and contract negotiations/administration of products and services required for efficient, cost effective system operation. Engages the customer proactively while offering transformative and innovative solutions in a timely manner.
Helps draft and execute purchasing/contract documents, including negotiation of terms and conditions.
Interfaces with customer departments including Maintenance, Production, Engineering, Operations, Chemistry and Project Management, Legal, Tax, Risk Management. Participates in ECI, EDE, includes an understanding of the applicable Strategic Category Plans and Supply Chain process/commodity teams to improve the procurement process, procedures or technology.
Assists in drafting responses to audits, condition reports and other data requests. Ensures ethical standards and company polices are followed in all procurement related functions.
Conducts research activities. Obtains favorable commercial terms and conditions while maintaining the appropriate quality and costs.
Assists customers regarding procurement or contract requirements, issues, concerns or administrative processes in a timely manner. Administers and monitors supplier performance.
Must have a commitment to safety. Able to multitask, show effective organizational skills, with a willingness to learn and support a team environment.
Provides reports for immediate supervisors. Performs other duties as required, directed or assigned.
Minimum education required of this position:
Prefer either Supply Chain related B.A./B.S. degree (such as business, accounting, finance, engineering/technical), CPA, professional supply chain/procurement certification, OR equivalent related experience.
Minimum experience required of this position:
Procurement Specialist II - 1-3 years of procurement or related experience.
Procurement Specialist III - 2-5 years of procurement or related experience.
Sr. Procurement Specialist - 3-8 years of experience.
Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position:
Has working understanding of all applicable procurement policies, procedures, rules and regulations. Has appropriate level of understanding of Supply Chain Management fundamentals.
Demonstrated ability to apply applicable codes and regulations, including UCC, Contract Law and FERC. Behaviors demonstrate commitment to effectively manage costs. Good computer knowledge and the ability to use procurement software systems.
