  • At Least 1-3 years of experience of carrier sales, carrier account management, or procurement experience

  • Bachelors degree or relevant post graduate work experience preferred

  • Proven success in managing carrier relationships and carrier sourcing

JOB DESCRIPTION: Primary Job Function Responsible for developing and executing category strategies for assigned categories within Engineered Products portfolio. Work intimately with customers, divisions and the cross-functional teams driving the "One Abbott Procurement" model. Provide superior levels of customer service and satisfaction while adhering to a strict standard of business ethics and integrity. The Specialist has delegated authority to commit company funds. This position will work on the definition and resolution of known or anticipated problems in value, quality, feasibility and specifications in the procurement of goods and services while contributing cost savings, partnerships with suppliers and other value-added activities to support customer needs and expectations. Drive reduced total cost of ownership by optimizing Tier 2 and Tier 3 supply chains. Leverage extensive market and supplier knowledge to drive lower TCO. Proactively seek and lead innovative ways to improve the procurement processes, cycle times, and customer service levels. Considered as Subject Matter Expert across categories by keeping oneself abreast with innovation pertinent to Abbott businesses.
