Position Summary & Responsibilities: Procurement Officer (Accountant)
Join our team as a Government Procurement Officer, where you'll play a crucial role in ensuring smooth procurement operations within our government agency. Your responsibilities will include overseeing procurement activities, ensuring regulatory compliance, and facilitating the acquisition of essential goods and services to support our organization's operations. This dynamic position involves advanced procurement tasks, vendor management, contract negotiation, and strict adherence to government procurement policies and procedures. Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Develops Requests for Quotations (RFQs), Invitations for Bids (IFBs); and Requests for Proposals (RFPs).
Position is responsible for purchasing tasks such as processing agency purchase requisitions, assisting with request for proposals and contract negotiations.
Prepares prior authorization documents as needed.
This requires confirming the accuracy of funding and account codes; verifying appropriate state contracts are used; checking for appropriate documentation required for purchases and is authorized by designated authorities.
Responsible for ensuring receiving reports are received prior to payment of vouchers.
Responsible for an agency p-card which includes reconciling monthly statements for purchases and processing payment.
Minimum Requirements:
Preferred Requirements:
Undergraduate degree in Procurement, Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field.
Strong understanding of state government procurement regulations, policies and procedures.
Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Certification in procurement (such as CSCP, CIPS, or CPPB)
