Procurement intern
The procurement intern role will contribute to establishing and improving procurement operations within the project, playing a crucial part in commercial support functions. Responsibilities will include tasks like setting up suppliers, managing purchase orders, assisting in supplier-related issues, and providing commercial aid across project activities. An ideal candidate for this internship would have some prior experience in procurement, demonstrating a basic level of familiarity and skills in handling these tasks.
Essential Job Functions
Assist in sourcing and evaluating potential suppliers and vendors.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand procurement needs.
Review and negotiate contracts, ensuring favorable terms and conditions.
Manage purchase orders and invoices, maintaining accurate records.
Monitor supplier performance and address any issues or discrepancies.
Analyze procurement data to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve processes.
Support the procurement team in ad-hoc projects and initiatives
Triggering/monitoring the creation and maintenance of suppliers in ERP-system(s) on request of Category Manager
Chasing order confirmation and update PO accordingly
Monitoring delivery planning
Resolving supplier questions and issues related to the PO.
Resolving invoicing issues related to PO.
Resolving delivery / quality issues in consultation with Warehouse and Quality
Request for Quotation (under guidance of Business Procurement Manager, Category Manager or Project Procurement Manager)
Receiving quotes (or proposals) and sharing with evaluation committee
Requesting for updated quotes (or proposals) and compare
Working towards process improvement in operational procurement process
Identifying recurring problems and participating in resolving them
Knowledge / experience in operational procurement / ordering / RFQ-ing required, at least 2 years, preferably in a broad variety of goods and services.
Documentation and Reporting
Perform other duties as assigned.
Support the procurement team in ad-hoc projects and initiatives.

General understanding of supply chain and administration from a sourcing/buying perspective.
General understanding of standard purchase order terms and conditions language.
Some knowledge of procurement function software.
General knowledge of RFI, RFQ and RFPs; ability to evaluate pricing and negotiate best terms.
