Position Description

You will work with our Materials, Planning and Logistics and Operations teams on a variety of exciting projects. This paid position is located at our West Kingston, Rhode Island Manufacturing Plant and Coventry Warehouse.

Ideally this position spans the Summer (full time) and Fall (part time) semesters. You will support creating and documenting material presentation and processes for training and implementation.

Key Responsibilities

Support Materials, Planning and Logistics with:

• Creating and documenting standard work for Materials Processes (Warehouse, Cell, Facility 5S) with support from MP&L Manager

• Site Maps to show Material Flows for the facility

• Visual Management support on key warehouse projects and part consolidation (Physical Set Ups)

• Automation on Planning Tools (i.e., Factory to Warehouse Request for Goods)

Required Education & Qualifications

Customer-focused attitude, dedication to safety and quality and solid communication and interpersonal skills are required. Ability to work in a team environment while taking ownership of projects. Prior experience working in a lean manufacturing environment would be highly beneficial.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Minimum Sophomore standing in engineering, supply chain management or operations degree program. Basic Microsoft Suite capabilities (VlookUps, Pivots, Smart Sheets, Macros a plus)

PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

The physical job requirements for the position of Materials, Planning and Logistics Intern include being able to do the following: occasionally lift up to 50 pounds, stand for less than 4 hours per day, sit for more than 4 hours per day, occasionally grasp items with either hand, and walk for less than 4 hours per day.
