We are actively recruiting for an US Procurement Director to lead and support our existing in country procurement team and be part of the leadership to drive the growth and excellent across the market.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

This role will oversee the procurement function to develop and implement a Procurement strategy that results in meeting the businesses financial objectives, growth, and retention strategies. The focus for the Procurement director is to ensure that the business has access to market leading partnerships that differentiation CBRE's offering and services above the competition.

KEY OBJECTIVES OF THE JOB

  • Accountable for leading procurement activities across the division including support for new sales bids, mobilising new business and operational business as usual.

  • Ensures that the supply chain is safe, sustainable, and appropriately accredited and establish the appropriate mechanisms for continual risk management and performance improvement of the supply chain.

  • Responsible for the deployment, execution, and growth of the Partner Excellence Programme.

  • Identify and establish the supply chain and preferred supplier programme in new states and territories to support CBRE DCS growth objectives.

  • To improve the Supply Chain value proposition of Data Centre business; whilst improving performance, delivering a better value supply chain and reducing risk to the business.

  • As part of the senior leadership team of the division, working alongside Finance, HR, QHSE and Commercial Directors to lead the division to achieve the business plan and long-term business strategies.

  • Delivering targeted savings and performance improvement benefits to the business

  • Responsible for adherence to the overall CBRE GWS Supply Chain strategies, policies and procedures

  • Ensure the resources are in place and optimise performance of resource to deliver the business objectives.

  • Build relationships with key customers to actively promote CBRE DCS capability and to demonstrate the wider value of the CBRE GWS business to drive increased new business and customer retention.

  • Execute contractual arrangements with suppliers that are recognised for delivering best value and high-quality service delivery to CBRE GWS and its customers.

  • Develop and maintain relationships at the highest levels internally and within preferred supplier organisations important to the Data Centre business.

  • Develop and implement SRM (Supplier Relationship Management) strategies and plans with key suppliers that establish CBRE DCS as a customer of choice in the marketplace which delivers value over and above what would normally be achieved.

  • Differentiate CBRE DCS through negotiation and deployment of differentiated partnerships in the Supply chain to establish CBRE as market leaders.

  • Develop and train out Procurement Guidance learning materials to embed good procurement practice throughout the division so that every buying decision made in the business is a good decision.

  • Develop and implement communication mechanisms within the division to ensure that all stakeholders are informed and engaged in the delivery of procurement strategies.

  • Input to divisional planning activities with horizons of typically 1 to 4 years

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • CIPS qualified or equivalent, with substantial experience, preferably reporting into Board level, of providing strategic leadership and direction within a large and complex organisation.

  • Proven capability in leading large-scale change initiatives and embedding new organisations and new ways of working.

  • Proven capability of effectively organising, motivating, and developing people in a complex, matrix-managed organisation

  • Ambitious and driven to succeed with abundant energy and enthusiasm.

  • Superior influencing and communication skills

  • The ability to work with and influence a broad range of customers, stakeholders, and supplier staff at senior levels.

  • A passion for delivering tangible and measurable results.

  • Strong commercial acumen and a proven track record of identifying and delivering substantial savings.

  • Proficient analytical skills and a measured approach to decision making.

  • A collaborative approach with the ability to maximise the short-term position while building long term productive relationships

  • Experience of the Data Centre market and in-depth knowledge of the FM supply chain

  • Able to plan and manage multiple work programmes effectively.

Specific technical knowledge/skills

  • Relevant qualifications and experience in Supply chain principles, procedures and methods

  • Experience working in the Data Centre or Hard Services Technical Industry

  • Supplier performance improvement tools & techniques

  • Category Management tools and techniques

  • Financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting

  • Leadership techniques and staff development methods

  • Tender and contract procurement practice, processes

  • Strong negotiation skills, strong contractual and commercial competence
