Job Summary:

The Procurement Coordinator will be responsible for serving as the designated purchasing agent for the organization. In this role, you will collaborate with departmental representatives to identify their procurement needs, act as a liaison between internal departments and external suppliers, and oversee the procurement process from start to finish. You will also be responsible for creating and managing formal purchase orders, updating vendor pricing, coordinating with the warehouse team for storeroom replenishments, and collaborating with the receiving team for product deliveries. Through effective procurement strategies, you will ensure the availability of goods necessary to support the organization's operations. Additionally, you will provide guidance and support to team members who are required to collaborate with Supply Chain Management to ensure adherence to proper order procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Entry level experience in purchasing or retail buying.

  • Experience in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred.

  • Familiarity with vendor relationships and the sourcing process.

  • Proficiency in using procurement software and systems.

  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.

  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

  • Problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.

  • Strong knowledge of inventory management principles.

  • Familiarity with supply chain management principles is a plus.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with departmental representatives to understand their procurement requirements and specifications.

  • Identify, evaluate, and select reliable suppliers and vendors.

  • Negotiate contractual terms and conditions with suppliers to ensure favorable pricing and terms.

  • Create and issue formal purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and compliance with organizational policies.

  • Regularly update vendor pricing and catalog information in the procurement system.

  • Coordinate with the warehouse team to manage storeroom replenishments and maintain optimum inventory levels.

  • Collaborate with the receiving team to ensure timely and accurate product deliveries.

  • Monitor and track orders, and proactively address any issues or delays that may arise.

  • Ensure compliance with procurement regulations and company policies.

  • Provide guidance and support to team members who need to collaborate with Supply Chain Management.

  • Continuously evaluate and improve procurement processes and strategies to optimize efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
