As the Procurement Buyer-Expeditor you will have a chance to impact the procurement process for Beachbody's nutritional and fitness products. Working with other members of the Global Procurement (GP) team, you'll issue POs, lead our Open Order Management function, and track production, shipment, and successful receipt of several hundred different items.
You will be that experienced person that can "own the buy" from issuing the PO through ensuring the right material has arrived at the right quality level, at the right location, on time. You will purchase nutritional ingredients, fitness products, printed collateral, and other commodities. You will work very closely with Strategic Sourcing Category Managers in GP, our suppliers, as well as other Beachbody employees across our functional teams.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Review purchase requisitions, coordinate with suppliers to obtain product availability, and author and issue POs
Track all inbound shipments tightly to ensure that our suppliers perform on-time, to the right quality level
Handle assigned administrative duties related to procuring materials (e.g., deviations, samples collection, testing results)
Manage material flow by working with the Planning team to purchase the right amount of product, on time
Prepare and issue purchase orders
Negotiate improved terms & conditions with suppliers, including price, quantities, lead time, delivery date, and payment terms
Discuss defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, users, suppliers, and others to determine source of trouble and take corrective action
Apply best practice principles in procurement
Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) from a 4-year accredited college or university in a related field
Intermediate Level 2 to 4 years
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Minimum 2 - 4 years' of experience in Supply Management or related field, with specific experience in Procurement required.
BA or BS in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or another relevant major (or equivalent experience required)
Candidate should have experience in Procurement in the food & nutritional sector
Proficiency in the administration of purchase commitments, monitoring supplier performance, back charge procedures, and the resolution of claims and disputes
Perform work of complex scope
Work under general direction, participate in setting assignment objectives; plan own task schedule to satisfy objectives; present your work for review of adequacy and completion
Represent the organization, interacting with senior internal and external personnel on significant matters
Perform duties in purchasing, open order management, and supply troubleshooting
Perform administration of purchase orders following commitments involving high monetary expenditure or risk, technical specifications, and other commercial terms
Prepare and process forms, issues, and administer purchase orders
Communicate with suppliers to achieve required service and meet project needs
Skilled in working with and communicating effectively both orally and in writing with other project functional groups, primarily Research & Development, Supply Chain Planning, Manufacturing, Logistics, and Quality Assurance
Knowledge of international commercial conditions of buying as well as international suppliers
Excellent oral and written communication skills required
Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills required
SCMP, CPP, or other professional procurement designation preferred
Advanced MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) preferred
