As a Procurement Analyst, you will drive savings and strategies through data and analytics. You will support strategic sourcing activities for a category of spend, with the goals of achieving significant cost reductions, improving product quality and supplier service levels through conducting market, spend, supplier, and pricing analysis. By enabling sourcing the highest quality vendors, products and materials at the most competitive price, you'll support our commitment to low-cost investing.

In this role, you will:

  • Actively participate in the strategic sourcing activities for a category of spend, with the goal of achieving significant initial cost reductions, while maintaining/improving product quality and supplier service levels.

  • Perform supply market analysis and clean-sheet analysis for negotiations and supplier selection.

  • Recommend suppliers or industry trends to include or highlight in category strategies.

  • Ensure that category fact base is complete and robust enough for long-term decision-making, and works across ESM and the enterprise to fill any gaps in data or analysis.

  • Using input from the category team, build the category metrics model to track and monitor performance in relationship to the category strategy.

  • Understand needs and objectives of business areas and functional constituents, and keenly understand potential linkages between Vanguard's business needs and the relevant industry trends.

  • Participate in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

What it takes:

  • Undergraduate degree or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

  • Minimum three or more years of business experience, previous experience within category preferred.

  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills.

  • Strong time management skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple activities in parallel.

  • Strong ownership mindset.

  • Ability to learn content quickly and apply a strategic lens to category spend.

  • Vanguard is not offering visa sponsorship for this position.

This is a unique and exciting opportunity to make a direct impact in a fast growth organization.The Sr. Procurement Specialist on the Financial Operations team is a key business partner to senior leadership. The Sr. Procurement Specialist will manage daily procurement activities across all departments and locations, while maintaining compliance with Frontline purchasing policies. The Sr. Procurement Specialist will provide procurement consulting and strategic support to senior management, including helping to prepare presentations, and other projects requested. The ideal candidate for this role is highly analytical, can operate in a fast-paced, changing, innovative environment, with outstanding communication skills. Responsibilities Responsibilities * Analyze costs of goods and services to help ensure we receive the best pricing * Organize, consolidate and manage relationships with current suppliers * Negotiate and maintain vendor contracts as directed * Consult with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule * Create, track and process purchase orders, including reviewing quotes, terms and conditions * Assist with researching and evaluating potential new vendors and suppliers * Maintain records in the contract management system * Assist departments with new and renewing contracts * Analyze and report on procurement activities * Reconcile monthly AMEX transactions for recurring technology spend * Monitor and consolidate credit card spend and purchasing activities for all departments * Assist with acquisition procurement integration and travel policy enforcement * Utilize tools and systems to identify opportunities and risks within the business, and perform ad-hoc reporting and analysis * Analyze travel spend and negotiate discount rates with suppliers * Establish strong business partnerships with other functions throughout the organization * Maintain a continuous focus on process improvement and efficiency Qualifications Qualifications * Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience * 3-5 years of procurement experience * Experience with technology service procurement a plus * Strong communication skills, written/verbal * Hands on experience with NetSuite (or related ERP system) and Concur a plus Competencies: * Encourages a team-oriented, collaborative environment * Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving skills * Highly-driven, self-motivated with strong attention to detail and record keeping * Ability to communicate with all levels of management with professionalism * Ability to work cross-functionally with individuals across the organization * Able to prioritize and adapt to change in a rapidly growing and evolving business environment * Solid interpersonal skills and emotional maturity We offer a competitive compensation package including a base salary and stellar benefits.
