Processing Operator

This position is a Processing Operator/Sanitation position. In this position, you will be trained and qualified to work in both our processing department and our sanitation department. You will work in the processing area for most of your shift but based on volume needs you may be asked to work in the sanitation area. The job descriptions for both positions are below.

Sanitors are responsible for cleaning and sanitizing processing and packaging equipment that produces the products you already know and love.

As a Sanitor, you can expect to work on your feet for the entirety of your shift near heavy machinery in a loud manufacturing environment. We wear productive gear (think of a HAZMAT suit) and we squeeze, crawl, and climb wherever we need to go to make sure a job is done correctly. Frito-Lay manufacturing facilities are also large. While we want everyone to feel comfortable, our ability to control the temperature is limited. Indoor warehouse working conditions are impacted by seasons and the weather.

Here is a list of some of the more frequent tasks you can expect to perform during a typical workday:

• Cleaning the equipment and lines necessary for manufacturing products

• Wiping down metal conveyors, as well as cleaning the machine itself

• Working with strong, corrosive chemicals, hot water, and cleaning agents

• Maintaining and cleaning all buildings and some outside landscaping

The Process Operator will be responsible for:

• Operating process related equipment and plant process control systems in a safe environmentally responsible manner

• Optimizing plant performance by monitoring process equipment and conditions using process control and process information systems including; process levels, temperatures, pressures and flow rates

• Collecting and reporting plant measurements related to performance, asset utilization, quality, costs yields

• Performing analytical checks, adjusting control systems and manually operated equipment based on process and lab data

• Determining root causes of deviations in process, product or equipment performance through use of troubleshooting and Root Cause Analysis

• Identifying opportunities for improvement and makes improvements when appropriate

• Performing individual duties with a high degree of dedication to safety and environmental stewardship

• Performing process equipment troubleshooting, routine equipment repairs, improvements and preventative maintenance

• Performing daily tasks efficiently using the appropriate computer tools and software

• Ensuring operational activities and process performance are aligned with plant and business goals

Other Requirements:

• Be able to demonstrate basic computer skills

• Be able to work all applicable shifts on a regular basis (including weekends & holidays) and work overtime when needed

• Be able to lift 50 pounds, lift hoses, bolt flanges and operate valves and similar equipment routinely

• Be able to climb ladders/stairs and work at heights

• Be able to work in tight or closed-in spaces

• Able to work in extreme environmental conditions
