Processing Operator

This position supports the Operations team at I.Rice. Here you will engage in a fast-paced work environment at a robust food manufacturing plant. This is a full-time position with daytime hours, primarily Monday through Friday.

This candidate must be able to work in a dynamic setting, perform multiple duties, and engage in new opportunities each day.

Essential Job and Duties

• Leads kettle team and manages day-to-day kettle operations
• Operates kettle and filling equipment to produce product within guidelines established by the Operations and Quality Control teams
• Provides technical assistance and performs basic maintenance on production and filling equipment
• Interfaces with floor supervisors
• Adheres to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
• Follow Safe Quality Foods protocols
• Assists in maintaining a clean and safe work environment

Requirements

Skills, Expectations and Education/Training

• General mechanic skills related to food manufacturing facility and related equipment
• Strong communication skills required, especially in relation to verbal communication between operators and supervisors across departments
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task
• Must be a self-starter and self-motivated
• Must be able to manage changing priorities associated with a fast-paced, team environment
• High school diploma or equivalent
• General mechanic training certificate preferred but not required, such as HVAC and plumbing
• Experience in a manufacturing facility preferred but not required
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds
• Must be able to withstand standing for long periods of time
