Role Overview
This position is located in Eastman Business Park in the Industrial Films and Chemicals Division. The principal responsibility for this position is to provide engineering project and day-to-day support within the Dispersion and Emulsion manufacturing operations.
Responsibilities:
Providing technical support for the operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of Dispersion and Emulsion manufacturing processes
Troubleshooting of quality and equipment related issues
Making data-driven process and equipment changes to improve reliability and reduce NSDT
Capital projects related to capability enhancements
Projects designed to address equipment obsolescence, process improvements and reductions of waste
Requirements:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical, Mechanical Engineering, or Equivalent experience with fluid and heat transfer, as well as fluid mixing, and some background level of chemistry
3-10 years' experience preferred
Aptitude for learning and applying principles associated with health, safety, and environmental controls and monitoring equipment
A strong work ethic, integrity, high motivation, and ability to be mentored
Demonstrated ability (through work experience or academic education) to utilize skills across multiple concurrently active projects
Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, schedule, and direct projects and tasks
Ability to work well with other process engineers and skilled trades experts
Good communication skills, both verbal and written
Ability to adhere to manufacturing process procedures and personnel safety principles
Design knowledge and/or education related to process instrumentation controls, programmable logic control systems, chemical reaction principles, flow control, mixing, and heat transfer equipment would be advantageous but not required
Demonstrated ability to trouble-shoot issues and assist in root-cause analysis techniques
Knowledge of hazardous location installation requirements
Strong interest in hands-on experience working with Operations and Skilled Trades personnel around multi-generational equipment
