Position Summary Pay Range $17.58--$20.31

Perform tasks that are necessary to provide high quality, efficient, timely shipment of products. Spearhead process improvement through improved process documentation, elimination of errors. Work with lead manufacturing technician & engineering to resolve quality and work flow issues.

The essential functions of the position include:

  • The safety and health of employees take precedence over all duties of this job.

  • Monitors cycle times and adjusts as needed.

  • Maintain accuracy of processes during production. Modify processes as required for product orders. Correct errors and work with operators to constantly improve process clarification and effectiveness.

  • Conducting mechanical tasks such as process monitoring, sampling and testing, preparing and isolating equipment for maintenance

  • Provide technical support to shift for trouble shooting and problem resolution. Ensure equipment and processes meet and sustain standard production outputs

  • Monitors operations process, work, and material flow to ensure quality and customer specs are met.

  • Assists maintenance with preventative maintenance projects.

  • Back-up on running presses during breaks, etc. and also back up to shift supervisor.

  • Conducts test and trial runs as needed.

  • Assists in mold changes and repairs as needed to optimize the molding process

  • Maintains cleanliness of work area.

  • Training of Production Supervisors and other Process Technicians

  • Performs all duties in a manner that demonstrates the highest level of quality and safety.

  • Providing repair and replacement of electrical and/or pneumatic instrumentation and control systems

  • Maintain and improve upon existing manufacturing practices for the manufacture of finished goods

  • Provide ideas and corrective actions for ongoing manufacturing issues

  • Installing new equipment

  • Other duties as required

Job Overview TE Connectivity's Quality Control and Reliability Teams ensure product and / or product components comply with specifications and quality standards. They test and inspect products against performance and integrity criteria to ensure product quality and reliability, and to determine the suitability of product release. The Quality Technician is responsible to drive TE quality performance, procedures and processes in collaboration with Material, Manufacturing and Engineering teams. Job Responsibilities * Drive quality and productivity improvement * Conduct onsite quality assessments and drive closure of findings * Implement TE quality strategies, procedures and initiatives * Organize containment activities and/or production monitoring on a need-to-support basis * Ensure timely implementation of permanent corrective actions and resolution * Ensure the process is running parts according to drawing specification. * Ensure that Production personnel is following quality procedures and instructions What your background should look like: Required Skills * Clear understanding of quality applied to manufacturing process. * Judgment and basic problem-solving skills to accomplish tasks. * Manufacturing process Audits and IATF 16949 and/or ISO 9001 Audits skills. * Ability to understand FMEA's, Control Plan, PPAP. * Familiar with First Article approval * Strong team player with ability to work effectively on cross-functional teams. * Ability to work with little supervision * Excellent communication skills; both verbal and written. Required Experience * Associate Degree in Technical discipline, or vocational degree or equivalent experience. * Minimum 5 years experience in manufacturing quality (automotive a plus) * Demonstrated ability and skills to support initiatives and quality management tools * Demonstrated self-starter and able to work independently to execute strategies and meet goals. * Experience with the following processes is preferred: * Injection molding * Component assembly * MSA and Gaging Experience. * Strong team player with demonstrated ability to work effectively on cross-functional teams * Excellent communication skills; verbal and written * Ability to understand technical drawings and specifications * Knowledge of GD&T rules * Trained Six Sigma Green Belt will be a plus.
