Danfoss has an opportunity for a Process Technician 1st Shift to join us at our Ames, Iowa location in the US. The Process Technician 1st Shift will be responsible for the assembly process in an assembly cell from set-up to testing.
Background & Skills
To be considered for this position, you will need the following:
Minimum of an AA degree or equivalent from Technical School and 6 months related experience on Danfoss products.
Desire for 4-year degree in Industrial Technology, Industrial Engineering, Mfg. Engineering or ME/AgE
Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of manufacturing processes.
Working knowledge of quality/problem solving tools (PPAP, Capability studies, PFMEA, Gauge R&R, 4-Step, 8D, Fishbone)
Computer skills, (Microsoft Office, PLC, test stand)
Ability to read and understand hydraulic & electrical schematics
Familiarity with TPM and SMED techniques
Customer Service mindset and the ability to stay calm under pressure are necessary traits.
Excellent safety record and approach to behavioral based safety using proper PPE are requirements.
Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
Demonstrate specific, significant contributions to team performance improvement, individually and as a key member of improvement teams.
Quality and quantity of improvement are both considered.
Key contributor in the RCPS process with the role "Problem Solver".
Investigate issues (production losses, quality problems, scrap, broken tools, safety risks, hazards, injuries, etc), problem-solve, and implement and verify solutions to eliminate recurrences.
Assist resolving day-to-day production issues and follow up to eliminate or minimize the need for your involvement in similar future issues.
Troubleshooting daily issues, fixing equipment or giving advice and instructions may be called for, but is at the direction of the Team Leader or Manager.
Eliminating your involvement includes eliminating the issue from recurring (RCPS), and giving others the tools resolve the issues themselves, using visual aids, SOP's, training, etc.
