GENERAL FUNCTION

To ensure the automation equipment readiness, safety, and housekeeping procedures are followed. Communicate potential hazards issues to supervisor/manager in a timely manner. Main duties will include working with the automation team to help with the building of new equipment, programming of new models, cutting machine setup, automated equipment daily PM.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with the automation team to build new equipment

  • Troubleshoot, maintain, repair and rebuild automated equipment.

  • Provide accurate feedback to the automation team and tech support on the equipment status

  • Create new program for the automation equipment on the production floor (robot toolpath, laser programs, lens cutting machine programs)

  • Set up tools and equipment to be ready for production.

  • Communicate automation and machine set up status to leads, material handlers, supervisors and process technicians from other shifts.

  • Perform and record daily PM activity

  • Quickly responds to the needs of supervisors, leads, material handlers and machine operators.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent

  • 1+ years of experience working in a Manufacturing environment

  • Strong mechanical aptitude with proficiency in various instruments and hand tools (wrenches, hole tapping, manual drilling)

  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their uses, repair, and maintenance

  • Knowledge of sensors and pneumatic circuits

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel)

  • Basic knowledge of robotics/HMI/PLC

  • Ability to read, understand and communicate in English language to ensure adherence to documented procedures and current specifications is essential.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with automation building and set up

  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes and quality control

  • Knowledge of CAD software

  • Experience with robotics simulator

Main duties will include working with mold team in parting lines, setting molds, pulling molds, setting faro fixtures, performing shut down activities of molding machines and auxiliary equipment and set up of the molding process monitoring system.
