This highly visible position has the responsibility to review, modify and implement Process Safety initiatives to improve plant safety in an effective and measurable way. This position also has the responsibility to manage change and to audit completed action plans for effectiveness.

Your responsibilities:

• Coordinates and facilitates process safety management through leading the site's Process Hazard Analysis (PHA)/HAZOPs programs in order to identify, evaluate and control potential hazards within processes including hazard identification, risk assessments, mitigation planning and project implementation, development of procedures, compliance auditing and compliance reporting.

• Leads, manages and facilitates the completion of process hazard identification and risk assessments to develop risk management strategies for the facility by identifying potential or actual adverse process safety hazards.

• Ensures that an annual program of PHAs are compiled and adhered to which includes the close out of actions related to PSM and the completion of annual site internal audits

• Ensures Management of Change procedures are followed to minimize risk and communicate improvements effectively.

• Reviews relevant MOCs for PSM related items. Ensure PSSR (Pre-Startup Safety Review) are completed for Management of Change (MOCs).

• Provide engineering and process safety technical input to identify opportunities to reduce Losses of Primary Containment (LOPCs) and the site's ICCA score

• Provides engineering technical input into Layers of Protection Analyses (LOPAs), developing Safety Requirement Specifications, and designing Safety Instrument Systems (SIS).

Requirements for the role:

• B.S. in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering

• Minimum of 7 years working in Chemicals Operations

• Experience in mechanical design

• Minimum 5 years working as a Process Safety Engineer

• Ability to lead an effective team at various organization levels

• Ability to construct and carry out diverse plans and priorities within specific timetables
