This Opportunity
WSP is currently initiating a search for a Process Safety Manager for our Jacksonville, FL office. This individual will provide technical support on a variety of Process Safety Management (PSM), Risk Management Program (RMP) and environmental health and safety (EHS) compliance projects.
Your Impact
Develop PSM and RMP programs for industry that stores and handles highly hazardous chemicals
Conduct PSM and RMP audits
Conduct EHS audits
Lead Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs)
Submit RMP Submittals to the EPA.
Consult and assist facilities with health and safety needs.
Assist in the preparation and implementation of site Health and Safety Plans (HASPs).
Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
Who You Are
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, or closely related discipline.
3-5 years of relevant post education experience in chemical engineering or related work.
Experience developing and auditing EHS, PSM, and RMP programs in industrial settings.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including technical report writing, proposal writing, and leading PHA teams.
Knowledge of chemical engineering principles, practices, process, design/build, and the application to permitting and project work-related issues.
Capable interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to an engineering and non-engineering audience.
Effective self-leadership with attention to detail, results orientation, and managing multiple priorities in a dynamic work environment.
Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek.
Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor Degree in Engineering.
Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
Proficiency with PHA Pro or similar PHA software.
Proficiency in using EPA's RMPComp software and RMP Esubmit reporting
40-Hour OSHA Health & Safety Training (HAZWOPER) (29 CFR 1910.120) preferred.
Basic First Aid and Adult CPR training desired.
