We are hiring a Process Safety Engineer to join our Process Risk Management group. This engineer will support our process safety services in the Gulf region, including facility siting, Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) study preparation, on-site scribing of studies and safety workshops (PHA,HAZOP, What-If Analysis,HAZID,JSA,QRA, andFMEA) and client reporting.

Qualifications / Experience:
  • ABachelor'sDegree in Chemical, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of experience in process safety, specifically relating to one or more core Process Risk Management deliverables, such as PHA, LOPA Risk Assessment, HAZOP, or HAZID
  • Effective written/verbal communicationand organization/analytical skills; experience recording/writing detailed technical data and reports a plus.
  • The willingness and ability to travel approximately 25% of the time. Valid driver's license required.
  • Ability to multi-task, maintain flexibility,and work independently with minimal supervision.

VIEW JOBS 12/6/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-03-06T00:00 Requisition ID: 71081 Primary Responsibilities * Define process safety requirements for projects based on client requirements, codes, regulations and industry practices. * Develop or improve procedures, workflows, specifications and other process safety departmental level documentation. * Provide fire protection design, fire hazard analysis and other technical safety services for industrial Oil and Gas facilities in order to determine hazards and designate appropriate active and passive fire protection schemes during design and construction of these facilities. * Implement and be responsible for process safety deliverables: Process Safety design basis, Electrical Area Classification schedules, Fire & Gas Detection location plans, Safety Showers and Eyewash location plans, Fire Hazard analysis, Fire water demand, Fire protection equipment location plan, Fire protection equipment datasheets and requisitions. * Develop specifications for active and passive fire protection, fire & gas system, SIF SRS, Firefighting and other safety equipment. * Perform consequence analysis for gas dispersion, radiation and explosion for onsite impact for purpose of site layout and worker safety. * Lead interdisciplinary coordination among project teams to ensure the quality of the design, installation, and operation of the fire protection systems. * For new project proposal, responsible to review scope of work and provide necessary input in areas of process safety and fire protection. Qualifications * At least fifteen years professional combination experience in Process/Technical Safety and fire protection. * Must have experience in these three areas: process safety, fire protection and EPC * Bachelor or Masters in Chemical Engineering (preferred), Fire protection or mechanical. * Professional Engineering (PE) license in Fire Protection engineering or Chemical Engineering (preferred). * Ability to serve multiple projects, requests for services and opinions. * Proficient communicator, both written and verbal, with a variety of audiences such as fellow engineers, management, clients, and subcontractors. * Customer focused, dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers. * Experienced in all process safety design activities such as safety equipment layout, Fire Hazard Analysis, passive fire protection studies (API 2218), hazardous area classification (IEC 60079-10, API 500/505, NFPA 497/499), fire and gas detection (NFPA 72, NFPA 101), firewater systems and P&ID development (NFPA), Hazard Identification (HAZID), HAZOP management including action tracking and follow up, SIL verification calculations, consequence analysis. * Experience in using software for consequence analysis (PHAST) or BREEZE incident analyst and exSILentia for SIL calculations. Working Conditions * Fast-paced office environment; must be able to interact professionally with all levels of management while simultaneously manage a diversified workload and challenging situations efficiently and effectively; regularly sit, stand, walk and talk and listen; occasionally lift and move up objects up to 30 pounds. * Travel in the U.S. and internationally to job site and other office locations (5-15%).
