This position is responsible for the set-up, adjustment / repair and maintenance of a variety of machines with responsibility for production and quality on this equipment. Periodic building maintenance is also required.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

  • Understand, analyze and continually seek improvements to the performance of equipment.

  • Determine root cause of downtime issues. Make necessary corrections to maintain maximum production and quality.

  • Observe mechanical devices in operation and diagnose problems based on sounds, functionality, etc. Make running adjustments to improve equipment performance.

  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance functions so the equipment performs at optimum levels.

  • Knowledge of blueprints, schematics, pneumatics, hydraulics, and PLC's.

  • Dismantle devices to gain access to and remove defective parts. Examine form and texture of parts to detect imperfections. Repair or replace defective mechanical and/or electrical parts.

  • Adjust functional parts of devices and control systems, such as vision systems, servo controllers and sensors.

  • Maintain maintenance documentation (including logbooks, PM's, etc) accurately

  • Examine form and texture of parts to detect imperfections

  • Be willing to learn new aspects of maintenance to enhance skill set and provide training to others as appropriate.

  • Must be able to communicate with co-worker, management and other depart members to strength and enhance the business.

  • Start and run equipment to test their performance.

  • This position may require overtime and/or weekend work.

  • Knowledge of and adherence to all PCI, cGMP, and GCP policies, procedures, rules.

  • Attendance to work is an essential function of this position

  • Performs other duties as assigned by Manager/Supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • TABE testing requirements met at approved grade level for position.

  • Must have at least 2-3 years applicable maintenance experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment or 2 year Technical School.

  • Basic Mathematical Skills

  • Basic Computer Skills:
    Ability to perform basic computer tasks and has the ability to operate common computer programs.

  • Minimum Professional Proficiency: Ability to speak in a way that allows one to participate effectively in various conversations. Ability to read various types of standard items addressed to general readers.

  • High Reasoning: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where there is only limited standardization. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions that may be provided in various forms. Must be

Technicians will ensure and help maintain a safe work environment, while supporting the internal customer to achieve the sites business goals and objectives. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Supports the packaging lines by making routine and non-routine adjustments that insures a high quality product. * Collaborate with other departments and other Maintenance Mechanics to obtain information or experience to keep lines running at an efficient rate. * Perform preventive maintenance, changeovers, repairs, and running adjustments. * The ability to systematically gather information from a variety of sources, analyze the information, identify implications of data, draw appropriate conclusions, generate viable, alternative solutions to a question or problem, and evaluate the consequences of choosing each alternative. * The ability to assert personal ideas and opinions to convince others. This includes gaining others support through one's own actions, examples or persuasion in an ethical manner. * The ability to define, diagnoses, and resolve problems. This includes seeking, logically examining, and interpreting information from different sources to determine a problem's cause and developing a course of action to resolve the problem and to prevent its recurrence. * Provides guidance to others by responding to questions; observing work activity; giving direction when necessary; and providing on-the-job training. * Use a variety of hand tools and power tools in order to perform you duties * Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situation to proper personal. * Read interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and services. * Prompt escalation to supervisor of any safety issue, quality issue, or downtime following the established escalation protocol. * Preform Single Minute Exchange of Dies, (SMED) activities on packaging lines. * Execute initiatives relating to OPEX objectives. * Analyze equipment failures to improve overall reliability of the equipment, while maintaining productivity. * Update setup documentation to insure all settings are current and accurate. * Work with The Business Units and Scheduling to accurately maintain a timeline for any launches or validations of products * Audit and maintain a high level of 5's in the facility to help maintain a safe, organized, clean high-performing workplace * Document and drive actions for your respected value stream. * Audit the centerline document system to insure sustainability and a high level of productivity. * Attend Tier I Daily Directional Setting (DDS) meeting.
