Job Description: Summary
This position is responsible for safely evaluating the quality of both raw and finished products to assure that they meet company quality standards.
Perform all work safely and with the utmost concern for the safety of self and other employee's.
Understand and comply with all safety policies and procedures.
Assure equipment is properly set for the tasks performed with it, set aside, recheck, restrict confirmed out-of-grade product, complete data entry or grade sheets, record all required information for the products.
Assist in training Quality Assurance Tech Trainees.
Maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
Must have the ability to work overtime as required.
Must actively practice and abide by all company work, safety and personal hygiene rules and regulations as outlined in the employee handbook.
Knowledge of proper handling of hazardous chemicals, i.e.: caustic, acid, and correct first aid procedures in the event of a chemical accident.
Be able to explain and perform the Emergency Evacuation Procedures from any of their work areas in the plant.
Locate, hold, recheck, and disposition of all restricted finished pallets for any or all quality attributes as per Team Leader instructions.
Must enter data of all held or restricted pallets and their disposition in the QA disposition tracking program.
Do secondary container inspection, check case temperature and recheck pallets which have been restricted for high temperature.
Perform other duties as assigned by Team Leaders or lead personnel.
Perform the following attribute tests on both raw and finished product: color, texture, size, defect, flavor, and foreign material evaluation; weigh of units and/or cases; percent of solids and/or specific gravity; analysis of waste and/or loss; analysis of length, unit irregularity, and aggregation; finished product container condition and labeling.
