We're looking for a Process Piping Engineer III to join our dynamic team in our Melbourne office. WHAT YOU WILL DO:

As a Process Piping Engineer, you will design piping systems for launch sites, test stands, manufacturing, and processing facilities. This includes sizing compressors, pumps, regulators, control valves and selecting instrumentation. To be successful in this role you must be able to turn owner requirements into design reality and then communicate this design with engineering drawings and specifications while following all pertinent codes and regulations. Critical thinking and analytical skills are a must. Teamwork and coordination with other disciplines is key to a complete design. On a typical day, you will be working in cad programs like Revit and Inventor for 3D design. Casear II, AFT Arrow, AFT Fathom Pipe are often used for analysis as well as Nastran and hand calculations.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs assignments designed to continue to develop professional engineering work knowledge and abilities, requiring application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out a sequence of related engineering tasks. Assignments require independent judgement and application of a routine, complex nature, under the supervision of the Director or a more senior level engineer. Assignments shall include more variables and be more complex than for Level I and II Engineers.

  • Performs design and calculation tasks based on standard engineering techniques and procedures. Applies standard practices, engineering fundamentals, and techniques in specific situations, adjusts and correlates data, and follows design through a series of related detailed steps or processes.

  • Basic knowledge of fluid or gas handling systems.

  • Basic principle knowledge of compressible and incompressible flow, thermodynamics, and materials.

  • Knowledge of piping, tubing, fittings, welding, valves, filters, and regulators.

  • Must be proficient in the use of:

  • Microsoft Windows, Excel, Word, Powerpoint and Bluebeam.

  • Autodesk Revit, PTC Creo, Autodesk Inventor, or AutoCAD

  • AFT Arrow

  • AFT Fathom

  • Prepares reports, specifications, engineering drawings, construction schedules, and construction cost estimates , under the direction of the Director or a more senior level engineer.

  • Performs computer aided design drafting to produce designs into routine final drawings using the latest version of Revit and/or AutoCAD.

  • Research discipline-related code issues and present interpretation.

  • Visits construction sites and attends site meetings to review, monitor, and report construction progress. Perform other construction administration duties, such as shop drawing review, answering RFI's, preparing supplemental instructions or proposal requests and writing status reports.

  • Performs computer aided design drafting to produce designs into routine final drawings using the latest version of Revit and/or AutoCAD or instructs drafters and engineering designers to produce designs into working drawings.

  • Perform checking of one's own work and work prepared by drafters and designers.

  • Provide coordination of all applicable project discipline's drawings and specifications.

  • Assist in preparing design budgets, marketing proposals and cost estimates.

  • Assist in client contact and communication pertaining to specific projects.

  • Promotes communication, cooperation and quality among staff

  • Promotes and represents the firm in a professional manner.

  • Responsible for job specific standards, practices and quality as defined in BRPH documentation.

Qualifications

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited four-year college or university.

  • Minimum of three years of experience as an engineer in Process Piping.

  • Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.

CERTIFICATE, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

Possess a Certificate of Engineer in Training (EIT)
