Our Andover, MA office is looking to add an experienced Process Piping/Plumbing Engineer to join its busy team! In this position, you will develop plans and specifications on a number of projects. The ideal candidate will have 10 years of experience in the MEP industry. Experience with process piping systems preferred. Revit proficiency is a must.

Responsibilities

  • Perform design engineering tasks in own discipline, under the supervision of a senior engineer and/or project manager.

  • May obtain field data by conducting field visits to project sites both in state and out of state. May require overnight travel. Document existing conditions.

  • May review work of junior designers and CAD/Revit technicians to ensure quality.

  • Solve standard engineering problems.

  • Obtain knowledge of building codes and stay current with building code changes.

  • Perform research and write reports.

  • Perform equipment takeoffs for estimating purposes.

  • Within his or her technical specialty, is able to design and lay out routine portions of a project by ACAD, Revit, or other means, and is proficient in CAD and Revit.

  • Develop plans, specifications and cost estimates for a limited number of concurrent projects.

  • Create final design documents.

  • Will perform calculations as well as operate various software packages related to various portions of the design package.

  • Using knowledge of the kinds of projects the firm designs, is able to specify engineering systems from catalogs.

  • Communicate effectively with staff, vendors and clients.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an ABET-accredited engineering curriculum

  • Five to ten years of related experience

  • Process piping experience desired

  • Must have a thorough understanding of design principles

  • Experience with and proficiency in Revit required

  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills

You are responsible for Reviewing requirements, specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback Review design inputs (specifications) and design outputs (reports, prints, etc.) to assure that appropriate design requirements are specified and to evaluate/confirm quality requirements prior to successful design transfer. Track design quality assurance metrics, like defect densities and open defect counts while generating Design deliverables within Design Control Liaise with internal teams (e.g. Developers, Project Managers and Quality Engineers) - Work closely with Product Development, the project team, and Sr. Quality Engineers or QA Manager to ensure that the design was developed in accordance with the approved project plan and the Design Control Process for both new design and changes to released product. Coordinate with the development of essential design control deliverables including, but not limited to design verification, design validation, design reviews, phase reviews, and product release authorization for distribution of product. You are a part of: Patient Care and Monitoring Solutions – Connected Care Solutions You will report directly to the Director, Solution Robustness in Philips Patient Monitoring (PM) Business Unit. The PM team is part of Philips Patient Care & Monitoring Solutions (PCMS) division. Your team will be part of a team owning (Design History File) review process and guidance documents. This position is based in Andover, MA.
