Summary
The Blend Room Lead is a working lead position and will be the contact point for delegating assignments within the blending room, providing productivity updates to the area lead, and reporting hours for the team. This individual performs the duties of a blending process operator and will assume the additional room lead responsibility for ensuring all team members meet expectations for compliance with SOPs and regulations for safety and Good Manufacturing Practices.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities - Blend Room Lead
Under general supervision, performs duties associated with processing technologies in manufacturing operations involved with blending or mixing of ingredients.
Monitors and inspects product quality during processing.
Disassembles, cleans, sanitizes, and reassembles equipment.
Able to adjust functional parts and instrument controls.
Cleans and maintains processing rooms and equipment.
Attends all company training sessions.
Ensures assignments and performance standards (for quality, productivity, reliability, initiative, safety, and work relationships) are met for all team members.
Verifies process compliance with batch record guidelines; ensures operator quality monitoring and inspection activities are being performed.
Completes or oversees the accurate completion of required paperwork and documentation, including production batch records, and hours accounting.
Trouble shoots processing problems; works closely with management to overcome manufacturing challenges and contribute to process improvements.
Trains and mentors new hires, ultimately responsible for assessing core competency and compliance.
Provides support, direction and coaching to process operators in areas of training, problem resolution, planning, and work assignment completion.
May be responsible for guaranteeing cleanliness of equipment and work areas.
Responsible for ensuring safety of work area, and enforcing safety procedures.
Carries out all responsibilities in compliance with the organization's policies, procedures, and state, federal, and local laws. Fully complies with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP's) and health and safety regulations
Qualifications
Required: High school diploma or GED.
Good written and oral communication, training, and leadership skills.
Basic math skills such as addition, subtraction, division, including basic calculations such as % yield and tare weight.
Must have the ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English in order to train and provide work direction for process operators.
A minimum of 1-3 years of work experience in a manufacturing environment. Knowledge of processing methods and procedures, cGMP's, FDA, OSHA, and all regulatory requirements, as well as NAI SOP's and process documentation.
Demonstrated proficiency in blend processes and procedures
Must have good attendance.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop and kneel; talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to sit and stand.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust and focus.
Lifting requirement: Up to the maximum safety-recommended 50 pounds
