Summary: We are seeking a Process Improvement/Quality Engineer experienced in creating and implementing standard operating and set up procedures for production equipment, organize and facilitate skilled operator training, optimize machine output by way of increased production rate, increased machine up time and reduced machine change over time whilst assuring the quality of the product. This position will work closely with HSE, Maintenance and Production to implement new projects, current process improvements and process changes.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Improve manufacturing equipment function and quality processes. Lead working teams to design, develop and implement new processes & improvements.

Support company safety and environmental procedures and programs. Incorporate safety protocols into process design, in harmony with local and national/international standards. Support process-flow and control plan development.

Produce standard operating procedures, visual-aids, and process documentation for production process improvements.

Support the training of affected persons in the standard operating and set-up procedures. Use of 6-Sigma and Lean tools in performing duties and responsibilities to reduce variation and waste in the ITC processes.

Participate in the corrective-action process to implement solutions to manufacturing issues. Assist in the development of quality systems. Assist in the development of PM procedures in partnership with project teams and the maintenance department.

Project documentation such as ROI, cost-analysis, justifications, technical reviews, executive summaries. Raising purchase requests as necessary. Includes identifying needs and providing specifications.

Identify and implement process improvements using the DMAIC approach. Maintain a safe and clean working environment. Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related assignments as needed.

Support maintenance activities as required. Technical and hands-on input. Perform administrative tasks as required.

Any additional duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Organized and methodical in approach to process development. 6-Sigma (green belt preferred). Proficient in use of Lean concepts.

Experience within high volume manufacturing. Hands-on experience with process development. Knowledge of manufacturing processes (metals manufacturing, wire production, friction welding, painting preferred). Strong technical writing and communication ability.

Ability to motivate and influence people. Endurance and willingness to find solutions and implement them in high pressure environment (“see-it-through”). Formal project management experience. Capital project experience through implementation and legacy.

Ability to pursue and sell ideas using logic and data. Drive to challenge the status-quo. 5S experience. ERP system experience Problem-solving skills (DMAIC, A3, DOE, other 6-Sigma tools.

Competence in understanding technical information (blue-prints, GD&T, Electrical, pneumatic schematics). Enjoyment of and ability to work as part of a team. Strong statistical and numerical ability (SPC). Experience in Minitab, QI Macros or similar. Proficiency in Excel, Word, Visio, Project, and Power Point.

Education & Training: Engineering degree preferred. Significant relevant experience with demonstrated success in process development and improvement activities will be considered.

Formal 6-Sigma / Lean qualification is desirable. Supervisory Responsibilities: Oversees Quality Assurance and Technical Engineering teams.

Physical Requirements: Ability to work in a manufacturing environment which includes elevated sound levels and varying ambient temperatures. Travel Requirements: Limited travel to vendors and ITC facilities will be required.
