Job responsibilities and duties:
1.Continuously maintain and improve lines efficiencies.
Verify line improvements are being utilized correctly.
Ensure implemented processes are still efficient.
Request staff as needed to analyze line efficiencies.
Update procedures if needed.
Assist with production layouts for new lines.
2.Engineer, design, and modify equipment to improve performance.
Ensure equipment is updated on a regular basis.
Work with vendors/contractors/employees to ensure timelines are maintained throughout installation process.
Execute improvement plan for equipment after approval.
Weld/machine components as needed.
3.Serve on the Equipment Strategy Steering team.
Evaluate any new equipment being considered based on technical expertise.
Provide design concepts for integrating equipment into existing cells.
Determine processes required to manufacture new products.
Participate with manufacturing engineers on equipment selection.
4.Maintain safety, cleanliness, and upkeep of equipment and maintenance areas.
Must administer lock-out tag-out (LOTO) and follow GMP rules.
Must keep work areas clean and well organized.
This position requires the ability to identify and correct safety issues for the benefit of all employees.
5.Understand and maintain a culture of "lean action" within the department so that we live "lean" better than any organization.
Implement and maintain standards and processes that eliminate waste throughout the department.
Apply and utilize "lean tools" to permanently implement improvements.
Institutionalize 5-S in all aspects of the department. (Sort, Straighten, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain)
