The person(s) working as a Process Improvement Technician will primarily be responsible to pursue and implement open continuous improvement projects that are resource constrained.

Specific Accountabilities

  • Learn pertinent knowledge (process, documentation, etc.) to successfully implement improvements

  • Generate and report data to illustrate project progress and net value to the business

  • Research and formally request additional resources to implement improvements

  • May also perform additional duties as assigned

Required Skills and Experience

  • Minimum of two (2) years of post-secondary education in a Science or Engineering field

  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint software

  • Ability to communicate proficiently in English both verbally and in writing

  • Ability to spend more than 50% of time in manufacturing environment performing physical tasks is necessary

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Statistical knowledge and/or Minitab experience is preferred
  • VBA programming would be beneficial

Working Relationships

  • Will report into the FemCare Operations Maintenance & Engineering group.

  • This position will be involved daily with cross functional colleagues including operations, quality, engineering, and R&D.

Work Environment

  • Limited travel may be required.

  • Must be able to work full shifts in manufacturing environment (long periods of standing will be involved.)

  • Personal Protective Equipment is mandatory. Hearing and eye protection, gowns, hair nets, and other GMP required equipment must be worn while in production environment.

2-4 months during the Summer

Position Summary Provide support to the ESP Maintenance & Engineering staff for continuous improvement projects on Carefree & Stayfree assets and the systems supporting these assets. This is a full time intern opportunity. Specific Accountabilities * Assist with the implementation of various improvement projects which may include new installations, modifications to existing and system programming. * Work with Engineers on database improvements * Work with Engineers & Electronic Technicians with reading electrical prints to determine how to connect machine cables/wiring & reading ladder logic to determine current state vs. improvement opportunities * Participate in the daily performance updates. Use available data to identify chronic issues & target improvements against these issues. * Assist with power-up and debug of installed components/systems, which will include checking PLC inputs and outputs and proper voltages for machine functionality. * Prepare documentation for validation and calibration purposes. * May assist with translating Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs). * Other duties as assigned Required Skills and Experience * A high school diploma or equivalent, and 1-2 years education in an accredited degree program majoring in Electrical or software Engineering or related field. * Basic understanding of electricity, digital electronics, and PLCs * Must have strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel & Word, and Adobe. CAD experience preferred. * Must have the ability to communicate effectively, both written and oral. Working Relationships * Reports to Sr. Electrical Engineer. Key relationships internally will include Electronic Techs, Engineering, Maintenance Operations, Quality, and R&D. Work Environment * Maintenance activities around moving and idle equipment, travel throughout the plant, extensive interaction with all plant personnel, standing, walking, reaching, bending, crouching, working in awkward positions, climbing, occasional lifting or moving of heavy weight up to 50 lbs. required, (lift assist for weights over 50 lbs.) * Work schedule is typically day shift, 40 hours a week. Schedule may vary from typical business hours as needed for projects. * Exposure to health risks or conditions that may require the use of Personal Protective Equipment.
