What you'll be doing...

You will work with Engineering and various team leaders to execute on a wide variety of improvement projects aimed at achieving the business's strategic and financial objectives. You will leverage Project Management, Lean Six Sigma and Design methodologies to identify areas of opportunity, develop solutions and then drive full execution across the business. You may be asked to drive transformation efforts across one or more Verizon business units.

  • Leading several types of Network and Technology transformation initiatives including Large Scale Project Management, Verizon Lean Six Sigma (VLSS) Process Improvement and Design projects.

  • Supporting Network Engineering.

  • Providing leadership on key projects designed to reduce expense to improve operating margins and reorganizing to eliminate redundancy across wireless and wireline.

  • Leading and facilitating team meetings, cross-functional workshops and VLSS work-outs.

  • Acting as an effective change agent utilizing proper stakeholder analysis and change management techniques.

  • Providing management with updates on project status, key metrics, issues, and risks.

  • Maintaining accurate and thorough project documentation/record keeping.

  • Supporting others by providing just in time coaching on transformation methodologies and tools.

  • Being a liaison between business units on projects that have a multi-organization or business unit scope.

What we're looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.

  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree in engineering, business or technical discipline.

  • Four or more years of Network or Engineering experience.

  • Agile Project Management and VLSS or Lean Six Sigma certification.

  • Ability to drive results at all levels, regardless of reporting structures.

  • Proven record for managing multiple simultaneous projects on time and budget.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

  • Outstanding quantitative and analytical skills.

  • Experience creating and presenting presentations to all levels of an organization.

  • Focus on process and the customer experience.

  • Proven record of performance and credibility.

  • Experience as a team leader with proven facilitation, change management, and problem solving experience.

  • Demonstrated competency in strategic thinking that results in new ideas that drive the business forward.

  • Track record of handling extremely confidential information appropriately.

Your Opportunity Primary focus on client account development, sales, and delivery of the full spectrum of consulting services to deliver strategic value to our clients in the natural gas transmission market. In particular, play a key role in growing engineering, design and drafting services for the natural gas pipeline and natural gas facilities industry. Your Key Responsibilities * Actively develop commercial strategies to pursue and win new business opportunities that result in significant revenue growth with the target natural gas transmission clients. * Develop new client relationships and expand existing relationships by delivering strategic consulting advice, excellent value, and quality service. * Maintain a pulse on industry business cycles and prioritize sales efforts toward high-potential, top opportunities. * Manage business opportunity capture efforts utilizing technical understanding to develop proposals, including written content, pricing, presentations, and contracting. * Contribute to leadership and management of project execution activities in support of clients' natural gas transmission and other major capital projects. * Lead consulting engagements by acting as technical or project management roles. * Build, grow, and manage a high-performance team, serving as a leader and mentor to consultants. * Identify emerging talent and work with them to reach their full potential; ensure rising stars are nurtured, developed and given new areas of responsibility. * Meet business health & safety performance standards, financial targets, overall project budgets and schedules, client satisfaction/expectations, and internal risk. Your Capabilities and Credentials * In-depth understanding of the natural gas transmission market and the companies operating in this market, including existing relationships that can be leveraged into new business. * Business acumen to understand business risks and challenges, and to recognize opportunities to provide enterprise-wide solutions for clients. * Demonstrable track record in delivering multi-million dollar sales results annually, including successfully winning large and strategic projects. * Recognized technical expertise and an established reputation in the local marketplace. * A strong commitment to safety. * Must have good driving record and valid Driver's License. * Prior to employment with Stantec, this position will require the successful passing of a drug screen. Education and Experience * Degree in in mechanical, process, electrical or civil engineering, construction management or related field. * 15 years of consulting experience including substantial experience with the natural gas transmission and/or distribution market in the Western US.
