Process Engineering Manager I

About the role:

  • Tactical manager of designers, toolmakers, and model makers.

  • Will lead a team of technical resources in the development of innovative manufacturing solutions that enable new products.

  • Through leadership, will deliver high quality, and cost-effective models, fixtures, and custom machined components to various customers throughout BSC.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Provides guidance and training to staff, assists subordinates in attaining career goals, motivates individuals to achieve results, and recruits and maintains a high quality, diverse staff.

  • Manages execution of the functional deliverables and be an advocate of the model shop and process development initiatives

  • Works cross-functionally to standardize, leverage and implement engineering tools and establish best-demonstrated practices.

  • Prioritizes and manages execution of department projects.

  • Oversees selection of technologies and equipment that meet business goals.

  • Works cross-functionally to standardize and establish the most efficient job management and tooling practices.

  • Serves as a technical resource and provides on-going feedback and coaching to direct reports

  • Demonstrates effective change leadership.

  • Builds strategic partnerships to further departmental and organizational objectives.

  • Establishes department metrics and objectives and monitors progress as appropriate.

What we're looking for:

Basic Qualifications

  • BS/BA degree with 5+ years of related experience

  • Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functionally at all levels

  • Machining or machine tool processing experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Medical device or heavily regulated industry experience

  • Demonstrated competency in leading teams in the development of complex technical solutions from concept to commercialization

  • BS/BA Degree in related field required, preferably in Engineering, Science or Technology

  • Track record of successfully delivering innovative product and business process solutions

Process Development Manager II About the role: * The Process Development Manager II will be responsible for delivering new products and processes as well as overseeing development of new technologies. * This role will need to have good strategic vision and knowledge of customer needs across the BSC network. * This role will also lead process development efforts on new, high profile projects. * Responsible for activities related to research and development. Such activities may include the technical support and process development engineering functions of a product manufacturing area; planning and implementing the development of new processes, establishing operating equipment specifications, improvement of manufacturing techniques; directing and controlling the activities of a research or technology development function; monitoring the program/project from initiation through delivery; and/or planning, development, and implementation of procedures for the testing and evaluation of electronic medical devices. Your responsibilities include: * May be responsible for recruiting, coaching, and/or developing organizational talent. * May be responsible for providing direction and/or guidance to exempt specialists and/or supervisory staff who exercise significant latitude and independence in their assignments. May supervise non-exempt employees. * Fosters a diverse workplace that enables all participants to contribute to their full potential in pursuit of organizational objectives. * Creates an entrepreneurial environment. * Keeps the organization's vision and values at the forefront of decision making and action. * Demonstrates effective change leadership. * Builds strategic partnerships to further departmental and organizational objectives. * Develops and executes organizational and operational policies that affect one or more groups by utilizing technical/professional knowledge and skills. * Monitors compliance with company policies and procedures (e.g. compliance with FDA, BSI, EEO regulations, etc.). * Makes decisions regarding work processes or operational plans and schedules in order to achieve department objectives. * May be responsible for developing, monitoring and appropriately adjusting the annual budget for department(s). Management Requirements * May lead a group or team of employees in the achievement of organizational goals. Guide, coach, direct, and develop direct reports, and if applicable, drive those practices throughout their organization. * Foster a diverse workplace that enables all participants to contribute to their full potential in pursuit of organizational objectives. * May direct and control the activities and budget of one or more functional areas, divisions, product groups, projects/programs and/or operations. * Monitor and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures (e.g. federal/country and regulatory requirements).
