Missions and Responsibilities
Air Liquide E&C is aggressively developing its business in the US. in particular in the fields of gas treatment and in oleochemicals where we have about 15 key technologies (25 percent of our portfolio) that we are bringing to the US market. There is tremendous growth opportunity in both markets.
In collaboration with sales team: understand (and challenge) the needs of customers (elaboration of the basis of design)
In collaboration with overseas technical teams, propose the most competitive and winning solution:
Perform process calculation and deliver process deliverables to the proposal (e.g. material and utility balance, equipment sizing, process description, process flow diagram PFD, block flow diagram BFD)
Provide feedback and inputs to the Request For Proposal (RFP) of the customer
Support to address the freedom to operate for the process solution
Contribute to the machinery configuration selection with the mechanical disciplines (NRU only)
Evaluate studies/solutions in both technical and cost knowledge
Evaluate vendor information for main equipment
Attend and contribute to customer and internal review meetings as a process representative
Implement capitalization and improvement ideas from previous projects / commissioning issues
Competencies and Profile
B.S. in Chemical Engineering
5+ years of industrial engineering experience
Very good knowledge in thermodynamics
Strong customer-centric mindset. Understand project economics
Good analytical and problem solving skills
Good written and verbal communications skills in English
Strong ability to work as a team member especially with offsite / international teams
Work closely with US sales and proposal team (Houston, Boston, Omaha)
Work closely with overseas technical centers (France, Germany, Malaysia)
Willingness and ability to learn process simulation softwares (Aspen plus AND Aspen Hysys). Initial training is required to be 3 months in Frankfurt and 3 months in Champigny. Learning our technologies will be done progressively.
Short term travel locally or internationally is required depending on the assigned tasks
Meet or exceed the company's safety standards
Comply with E&C Global and Local engineering standards and other industry standards
5+ years of Biodiesel and/or Oleochemical, and/or NGL, and/or NRU engineering design experience
Good understanding of various vendor equipment and instrumentation used in industrial gas plant processes
Knowledge of project development and/or execution as relating to Process scope
Hold EIT (Engineer In Training) or PE (Professional Engineer) license
Proficient in German and/or French languages
