What will you do as an Process Engineer/Analyst Jr?

This Process Engineer/Analyst position oversees the design and implementation of our company operation processes. As a process engineer, you will be responsible for developing and implementing process strategies, managing process resources, optimizing current processes, and maintaining process documents. Ultimately, your job is to analyze data and operational processes to create efficiency and minimize costs.

What do we expect from you as an Process Engineer/Analyst Jr?

• College degree in Engineering or related fields

• 1 to 3 years' experience in engineering, analytics or operations

• Excellent organizational skills; problem solver; ability to multi-task

• Ability to research best chemical plant practices in safety, health, and environmental areas for engineering and construction

• Ability to read engineering, construction and other technical specs, drawings, schematics, plans, and similar documents; ability to read and understand complex government regulations and translate/incorporate these requirements into terminal construction, engineering and maintenance plans

• Excellent analytical and math skills

• Working knowledge of computer programs including Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Oracle, UMS & INFOR; various email and internet programs and applications; computer-based design experience preferred

• Excellent English communication skills, both oral and written; listening skills

• Presentation skills

What does your day look like?

Your core responsibilities are:

• Works hands on in operations ensuring understanding of all processes

• Assists maintenance and/or engineering on various maintenance administration tasks

• Drafting process ideas to reduce costs and improve operational efficiency.

• Designing and testing process upgrades and new process systems.

• Assists in developing, monitoring, coordinating and controlling annual expenses and capital budgets for technical projects; assists in annual budget development

• Researches "best practices" for technical aspects of assigned projects

• Works with the team to prepare and deliver technical support presentations

• Assists with research, plans, and designs for systems and capital projects; works on RFP as requested

• Ensures that all assigned projects are in compliance with Company and regulatory requirements

• Assists colleagues in ensuring allocation of necessary resources

• Develops analysis tools

• Developing and trending KPI for monthly and quarterly customer operational review meetings.

• Analyzing data to develop optimization in operational workflow

• Assists with data gathering

• Tracks metrics to discover areas for improvement and monitor upgrades.

• Works with database systems

• Assembles reports to document process status and changes

• Ensuring processes comply with safety and quality standards

Work Environment

This position requires an employee to be in an office environment as well as exposed to outside elements. Most extreme elements are heat in the summer months of up to 100°+ and some exposure to cold of generally no less than 0° in the winter months. There will be exposure to various chemicals and compounds, including fumes and smells, some of them hazardous. The employee may enter confined spaces and work in elevated environments. Employee must be able to wear PPE required by the location. General office noise may be experienced and louder sounds and vibrations when outside. All environments are safe with appropriate PPE.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, sit, speak and hear. The employee is required to stand, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; the employee may be required, on occasion, to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee may be required to climb ladders/storage tanks up to 50' in height. The employee may be required to enter confined spaces. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Employee may be required to travel by air, rail, bus, or car.
