Process Engineer

Piper Companies is seeking a Process Engineer to join a global pharmaceutical organization with a state of the art facility in the Greater Raleigh, NC area. The Process Engineer will support new projects, equipment, and utilities throughout a pharmaceutical facility. This department is over raw materials, chemicals, and solvents, and their associated systems. The ideal candidate will have mechanical troubleshooting abilities in a production environment.

Responsibilities of the Process Engineer:

• Evaluate process and instrumentation diagrams to diagnose systems in the facility (pumps, valves, tanks, distillation columns)

• Own design and formulation changes/requests, and address non-conformities and deviations

• Provide technical support and initiate process improvement measures on existing equipment throughout the facility

• Work with validation protocols on equipment, including utilities

• Maintain safety while handling raw materials and chemicals such as: Sodium hydroxide, ethyl acetate, nitric acid, citric acid, ethanol, ammonia, acetic acids.

• Provide routine support and troubleshoot mechanical issues

Qualifications of the Process Engineer:

• 2-5 years of experience in an engineering production environment or related field

• Experience in troubleshooting mechanical issues in equipment such as pumps, valves, tanks, distillation columns, etc.

• General utilities experience

• B.S./M.S. in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, or a related field of study

Compensation of the Process Engineer:

• $45-65 per hour depending on relevant industry experience
