Job Description

All Grace employees are responsible and accountable to out EHS Policy. At this site, the employees promote the plant safety culture and goals which are essential to ensure that regulatory compliance including environmental and process safety are achieved and that there is a safe work environment for everyone.

To be successful in this position, one must maintain the overall understanding of process capability and capacity, able to identify and define requirements for process improvement and productivity projects, support troubleshooting of short/long term processes and production issues and manage minor capital and non-capital projects while conducting plant trials for new products and development work. The right candidate will thrive in this fast-paced, hands-on environment with continual interaction and communication specifically between the operations, maintenance and quality departments.

Required Skills

  • Responsibilities for this role will included but not limited to:

  • Monitoring manufacturing processes of sodium silicate and colloidal silica

  • Implementing, tracking and driving productivity projects

  • Investigating and troubleshooting processes with minimal supervision and making recommendations for improvements

  • Collaborative with quality control to ensure testing is complete and product specifications are fully met

  • Drive to achieve results and able to demonstrate initiative, innovation with strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Work with a diverse workforce and be an effective team player and leader by empowering others to accomplish business goals successfully through persuasion, influence and negotiation

Required Experience

  • Qualified candidates will have a BS degree in Chemical or Mechanical or Industrial or Electrical Engineering to be considered. This is an entry level position with 0-2 years of experience; able to read PDF's and P&ID's and be familiar with pumps, heat exchangers and reactors; Six Sigma certification, SAP and DCS experience is desirable. Able to wear PPE.
