Job Title: Process Engineer
Job Function: Manufacturing Engineering (ME)
Job Overview:
The Process Engineer develops, implements, and qualifies manufacturing processes used by engineering and production and ensures processes are established and equipment is programmed and operated at optimal efficiency. Reports to Director, MFG Engineering Operations. Located in Newark, CA.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
1.Develop, implement, and maintain processes related to SMT:
Provide program development and implementation of processes for SMT technicians and process technicians to follow reflow oven and 2nd Ops
Support manufacturing engineers with developing any processes and tools necessary for new product introductions
Support Design Engineering with mechanical designs for any new product design which includes designing and defining PCB outline, tolerances and keep-outs, hardware design, panelization design, and thermal analysis of new products
2.Manage and maintain manufacturing systems to support:
Manage machine programming of ultrasonic welding, thermal press, laser marking, reflow profile, conformal coating, SRT, prepping, wave (regular/selective), toolset, press-fit machines
Manage troubleshooting and debugging of any hardware or program related issues for machines, related software and program libraries
Qualify new machines, equipment or technologies used to support production or manufacturing of products, perform IQ, OQ, PQ for new equipment
Support and troubleshoot any issues that arise for SMT production and SMT technicians in day-to-day activities
Design and develop new hardware required for new OEM products, upon request
Review CM hardware designs for assembly and manufacturing
3.Maintain records and reporting systems:
Maintain records and reporting systems for coordination of manufacturing operations
Generate DFM reports
4.Provide engineering support and share technical expertise cross-functionally:
Create manufacturing instructions and conduct related training to production supervisors, technicians, and operators for mechanical hardware related assemblies
Provide quality improvement plans and/or corrective and preventive actions to the Quality Control Team
Review and analyze Quality data and suggest corrective/preventive actions to improve quality yield
Guide conformal coating operators and process technicians on Conformal coating equipment
5.Lead and manage the personnel of the Process support team
Manage the process technician group
Select, develop, and evaluate personnel to ensure efficient operation of the function
Required Education and Experience:
1.Minimum BS Degree in Engineering, Electronics, or equivalent experience.
2.Minimum 4 years of related experience in Supplier, Process, and Customer Quality areas in EMS environment.
Salary Range: 80K - 110K/ Year
