Job Description

Tenneco Inc. has recently acquired Federal-Mogul. The strategic combination of Tenneco's Ride Performance business with Federal-Mogul's Motorparts business will establish a global aftermarket leader with an impressive portfolio of some of the strongest brands in the aftermarket including Monroe, Walker, Wagner, Champion, Fel-Pro and MOOG. We are looking for a Process Engineer. The position will provide engineering support to the manufacturing processes and will design, install, and maintain production processes to fulfill customer requirements. Actively participates on teams and teammates to provide improvements in Safety, Quality, and Productivity Responsible for the successful launch of new product, model year, and engineering changes while simultaneously supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the facility.

  • Actively participates on teams and with teammates to provide improvements in Safety, Quality, and Productivity.

  • Gains approvals for and procures equipment and tooling for new product.

  • Fulfills process documentation requirements including bill-of-materials, routings, control plans, FMEA's.

  • Ensures on-time submission of production samples.

  • Coordinates with Manufacturing Department to maintain efficient and capable processes.

  • Works on cost reduction projects to improve competitive position.

  • Performs job duties in line with company policies, procedures and work instructions pertaining to ISO 14001 and Safety requirements.

  • Assembles needed quality documentation.

  • Supports manufacturing to assure product quality through manufacturing processes.

  • Interacts with vendors (equipment, material, services) to assure their products meet facility needs including ordering tooling & materials.

  • Coordinates with Sales & Product Engineering groups to process sample orders, new item introductions, engineering changes and the quoting process aimed at obtaining and introducing new business to the facility.

  • Works with quality to assure vendor conformance to objectives of the company.

  • Prepares reports as necessary to track cost reductions and/or manufacturing changes of process.

Required Experience

Education: Bachelors' Degree in Engineering or related field.

Skills & Experience:

  • 5+ years of engineering related experience in manufacturing and assembly.

  • Specialized Training and Skills:Blue Print Reading with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing preferred not required, CAD, Spreadsheet Programs.
  • Experience in Problem Solving techniques as applied to Safety, Quality, and Productivity.

  • Experience in tooling design and fixture applications - specifically in metalworking.

  • Experience working with Hydraulics, Pneumatics, and Electrical.

  • Experience working with PLC's, HMI, and relay logic.

About the role LanzaTech is looking for a motivated, high energy, well-organized, collaborative Sr. Process Engineer for its innovative Gas Fermentation process global commercialization efforts. This person will need to possess the skills to execute complex projects and a desire to deliver outstanding work products to clients. Will be responsible for process engineering design and development of information and deliverables for all project phases (conceptual inception, technoeconomic evaluations, feasibility studies, design and implementation). This will include collaborating with EPC and partners to deliver and evaluate process mass & energy balances, utility consumption, input for life cycle and sustainability analyses, equipment lists, piping plans, P&IDs, PFDs, and instrument specifications. The ultimate goal is to create and deliver feasibility, techno economic studies, as well as licensing and process engineering design packages for customers and partners. Specific Duties * Represent LanzaTech's process capabilities, proposing technical solutions to meet the customers' needs for sustainable fuels and chemicals. * Lead process design and development project activities (including feasibility studies, techno economic evaluations, process descriptions, process flow diagrams, and P&IDs) * Successfully execute projects internationally to meet global process, safety, government and regulatory standards and requirements * Build relationships with industry wide professionals resulting in a cohesive and technically correct operational solutions adapted for customer needs and specifications. This includes interfacing and integrating highly complex technical solutions across internal and external to company practices that include chemical processing, life cycle and sustainability studies, utilities, automation (control systems integration), civil and construction management disciplines. * Ensure quality through the implementation of rigorous project management and design reviews * Review submittals, answer RFIs, and complete field visits to verify process and onsite work is proceeding according to design Requirements * 10+ years' process engineering design experience in refining, petrochemical or chemical industry environments * Advanced knowledge and demonstrated experience in successfully applying the fundamentals of Chemical Engineering to industrial scale projects, including: Fluid Dynamics, Chemistry, Thermodynamics, Heat and Mass Transfer, Process Unit Operations and Separations, Basic Reaction Kinetics, Reactor Design, Material and Heat Balances, and Reaction Mechanisms * Chemical Processing Experience at both R&D and industrial scales is required * Experience developing process engineering designs for refining, petrochemical or chemical industrial manufacturing processes.
