DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking an experienced Process Engineer in Petrochemical projects to join our Project Management team (PMT). PMT are responsible & accountable for the delivery of best in class capital projects. PMT is directly involved in executing & managing assigned projects safely, on schedule, within budget & to the highest standards of integrity & compliance. This will involve engineering design, procurement & construction of various sizes ($), types & complexity of small, medium to multi-billion-dollar mega projects. PMT manages & executes projects from multiple site offices or engineering contractor design offices, geographically scattered throughout Saudi Arabia.

The primary role is to execute & manage capital projects. Ensure that engineering design, procurement, construction & project completion is done in compliance with the project objective & contractual requirements i.e. project schedule, cost, HSE, company standards & procedures.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES:

  • Execute capital projects according to scope, schedule & budget.

  • Leverage your expertise in petchem projects & provide appropriate actions for successful execution of projects.

  • Provide technical oversight to design, construction, pre-commissioning, commissioning, startup of facilities, & close out of projects.

  • Provide technical input and review licensor engineering packages

  • Provide technical input and review engineering contractor deliverables

  • Implement optimizations in the engineering design of licensors and engineering contractor

  • Participate and coordinate reviews of engineering packages

  • Monitor and guide engineering contractor on development of engineering packages

  • Ensure timely resolution of project issues arising in all phases of the project development.

  • Implement company initiatives & business processes in projects.

  • Oversee & review incoming & outgoing correspondence concerning projects assigned & prepare responses.

  • Ensure that proper job records are maintained on all assigned projects.

  • Master Saudi Aramco standards & assure that variances from standards are minimized.

  • Responsibility for project development: engineering studies, licensors selection, technical bid reviews, preliminary engineering, detail design, materials procurement, construction, pre-commissioning, handover, commissioning, startup, & close out.

  • Prepare weekly & monthly reports on the status & progress of the contracts, including project costs & schedule. Attend project meetings e.g. progress, stakeholders, design review, value improvement, etc.

  • Review of project schedule, coordinate & monitor the assigned project progress & challenge below par performance of the contractor.

  • Propose & capture optimization opportunities.

  • Implement engineering excellence in assigned projects.

  • Propose & implement innovative ideas to improve the business.

  • Uphold engineering ethics & maintain high standards of professional behavior & conduct.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • EDUCATION: B.S. in Chemical Engineering & a higher degree is preferred.

  • Process engineer background is required

  • OVERALL EXPERIENCE: minimum ten (10) years' experience in the process engineering field related to refining industries handling projects with values ranging from $100MM to $billion. With a specialty in one or more of the following:

  • Polyethylene

  • Polypropylene

  • Aromatics (BTX) extraction

  • LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS: Excellent English communication skills (verbal & written) & no second language is required.

OTHER:

  • Must have Engineering Design, Construction, Pre-commissioning, Commissioning, & Startup phases experience with a thorough knowledge of engineering practices & economic principles in the applicable International Codes, Standards & Specifications.

  • Experience with international companies in roles of Client/Operation or FEED/EPC contractor or PMC contractor is a plus

  • Have a mastery understanding of international procedures of Projects Phases, Engineering Phases, Bidding procedures, Procurement Processes, Construction Requirements & up to date Best Practices. In addition, be familiar with Saudi Aramco procedures & standards.

  • Have a mastery understanding of contract documents (inclusive of appendices, drawings & specifications), project execution plan, interface management, change management, construction sequencing, standards specifications & project schedule to support project manager &/or company representative in timely completion of projects.

  • Have a mastery understanding of scheduling principles & recovery methods.

  • Have a mastery understanding of cashflow distribution in projects.

  • Have a mastery understanding of resource planning & distribution.

  • Have a mastery understanding of crisis management & ability to calmly manage project issues.

  • Dynamic attitude towards project improvements & savings

  • Flexible to work in multinational teams & mobilize to different locations including remote areas as needed.
