  • Participates as a team member in a specific phase of a broad engineering assignment.

  • Directs preparation of appropriate documentation for assigned projects.

  • Provides technical leadership to a small group of temporarily assigned engineers and technicians.

  • Ensures successful completion of the assigned project phase within the budgeted time and cost constraints.

  • Participates in defining engineering approaches, and in planning and scheduling work.

  • Plays a role in the development and implementation of capital projects and supports project engineer and project manager.

  • Assists in selecting equipment, specifications, documentation, procuring of equipment, and helps coordinate installation and start-up activities for systems and equipment.

  • Provides technical knowledge and expertise to operations related to production issues, problems, and operational improvements. Ability to troubleshoot issues as they occur.

  • Organizes and generates relevant data and prepares project scopes, cost estimates, economic justifications, and capital appropriation requests, as required, to obtain management approval.

  • Performs activities in support of design and construction of capital projects and performs complex tasks in the development and implementation of equipment installations, process improvement, and facility, utility, and maintenance related projects.

  • Ensures the fulfillment of Perrigo Quality requirements for compliance with cGMP regulations including equipment qualification (IQ/OQ/PQ) and change control activities.


  • Experience in a dairy, whey or infant formula setting directly related to spray drying production.

  • Established understanding of theoretical fundamentals of blending and spray drying infant formula/dairy products and demonstrate the use of standard principles, theories, concepts and techniques.

  • Hands-on knowledge of production operations and associated control systems preferred.

  • Demonstrated experience with quality systems in a FDA current GMP regulated environment as well as capital project management experience strongly preferred.

  • Well-developed analytical skills including the ability to develop sound economic analyses with prudent financial judgment.

Role Purpose: Provides environmental health and safety (EHS) engineering support and expertise through the design, development, and maintenance of EHS standards and regulatory compliance for one or more Company sites. Supports continuous improvement efforts in assigned process area. Key Responsibilities: * Troubleshoots and resolves EHS issues; supports site EHS and department objectives through management consulting; training and development; inspections; audits and investigations; ergonomic reviews; environmental regulatory evaluations and committee assignments related to EHS. * Works closely with all areas of the organization to facilitate EHS compliance programs including writing policy, procedure and work instructions, systems monitoring and reporting, and supports ongoing training requirements. * Develops and prepares EHS specifications and recaps, cost estimates and rationalizations, and presents projects for approval, conducts and documents for approval or troubleshooting, and may participate in the selection of capital improvement vendors in conjunction with Procurement. * Particiaptes in EHS inspections/audits and accident investigation to identify and evaluate hazards and prevent incidents, coordinates documentation activities and follow up. Provides EHS expertise to identified areas by advising of potential safety hazards and environmental requirements and correcting any deficiencies. Interfaces with management from all areas (such as Manufacturing, Laboratories, Warehouse, Engineering, etc.) to communicate hazards and recommendations of solutions. * Designs, tests and participates in inspections for various EHS systems and processes and coordinates regulatory testing and documentation within approved procedures and standards. * Coordinates and supports continuous improvement projects aimed at cost reduction, quality improvement and efficiency improvements by streamlining processes and improve capability. * May provide technical facility knowledge to others.
