We're Mondelz International, a snacking powerhouse with operations in more than 80 countries, with approximately 90,000 employees globally and our brands are marketed in around 165 countries.
Our purpose and vision is to create more MOMENTS OF JOY by building the BEST SNACKING COMPANY IN THE WORLD.
The Process Engineer is a key contributor and champion of the advancement of our Factories towards Mondelez Quest to Be the Best Vision. Responsible for loss intelligence, loss eradication and loss prevention throughout the Operation, Process Engineers work with Leadership and Core Teams to build capability and engagement to support our business in achieving performance improvement goals (safety, quality, delivery, cost and sustainability).
As a member of the Core Team, the Process Engineer participates on daily management routine of the line he/she is associated with and also on monthly and annual loss analysis process, making use of PDCA (Plan Do Check Adjust) to track performance and develop plans and actions to meet or exceed site targets.
A key expectation of the role is to build capability of Core Operators and Maintenance colleagues as losses are identified and eradicated the loss prevention is a key element of continuous improvement and skills to execute new established standards (Cleaning Inspection Lubrication (CIL) in case of Autonomous Maintenance (AM) Pillar and Planned Maintenance (PM) Standards in case of Progressive Maintenance) is a key deliverable of Process Engineers.
The desired Skills:
The key skills of a Process Engineer are root cause analysis, change management and coaching others. These skills are developed and grown as part of the application of tools of Focused Improvement Pillar, understanding of AM and PM Pillar work-processes of the Integrated Lean Six Sigma program. The Process Engineer must develop a strong partnership with operations, maintenance, quality and safety to lead various teams responsible for identifying, documenting and controlling best practices in their functional area so interpersonal and team work skills are fundamental to engage 100% of Line/Site population. Process Engineers are strong agents of change and possess the ability to lead and motivate others.
Driving decision making with robust data analysis, the Process Engineer understands the value of bringing science and engineering to manufacturing. He/She will spend time to understand the technology associate with manufacturing process (eg chocolate or biscuit making process, packing, etc) and engage with Machine suppliers to understand equipment working principles and/or reach out to Ingredient suppliers as necessary when eradicating losses. Process Engineers will develop their skills assuring permanent achievement of high quality products by managing all aspects related to the manufacturing process.
Support all plant safety initiatives related to line processes.
Engage in Daily Management System (DMS) Meetings to lead plans for loss analysis and loss eradication.
Lead and coach core teams to identify and analyze losses and develop solutions and control plans using FI/Lean Tools such as Working Principles, 5 Whys, Statistics tools, Control Charts, Pareto and FMEA, etc
Support waste reductions initiatives such as War on Waste, Manufacturing Standards and World Class Scrap/Water Programs, Over Pack attainment including all R&D as well as Quality initiated projects.
Provide technical support to develop new cost saving programs and execute active projects.
Lead the activities to document and capture best operating practices, centerline equipment and build capability in the core teams, proactively communicate key learnings to enable best practice replication across all shifts and across lines.
Analyze performance data to support yearly, monthly and day-to-day Global Efficiency improvement have clarity and targets to reduce Planned and Unplanned Downtime
Actively support R&D and Engineering for all development programs targeting process equipment, new products, recipes, technologies and packaging.
Provide technical support on production and equipment requirements for raw materials and finished goods, standards and specifications, standards of raw materials costs, types of defects and how to prevent them.
Identify and plan Kaizen/Performance Improvement activities such as speed increase, minor stop reduction, scrap reduction, planned downtime reduction (SMED, visual controls) and labor efficiency improvement.
Ensure teams understand and report on Key Performance Indicators such as Safety, Quality, Global Efficiency, Downtime, and Consumer Complaints. Process Engineers have mastery on on-line performance tools e.g. DMS and adoption of iDF (Integrated Digital Factory), so value is created through on-line control allowing Core Team intervention in the manufacturing process enabling ZERO losses.
Support new product introduction and major capital initiatives, providing performance data analysis to ensure product and delivery standards are met.
