Merrick & Company is seeking an experienced Process Engineer (minimum of either (8) years of experience) with a detailed process design background for the bioprocess, oil refinery gas, and/or chemical process industries to join our growing team in Greenwood Village, CO or Tulsa, OK. Local candidates strongly preferred.
Typical annual pay range for this position is $90,000.00 - $120,000.00. Pay offered may vary depending on job related knowledge, skills, and experience.
Job Description
As a process engineer with Merrick, you will work primarily on energy, chemical, and bioprocessing projects. A successful candidate will be placed in a key engineering role, working within a small, multi-disciplinary team of engineers and designers to execute design and engineering on projects.
Scope/Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Analyzes equipment specifications and performance requirements to determine appropriate designs.
Prepares process design deliverables including:
Process Flow Diagrams
Mass and Energy Balances
Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams
Equipment sizing calculations
Process line sizing calculations
Equipment and Instrument datasheets
Vendor coordination for selection of instrumentation and equipment.
Able to perform many process tasks autonomously (e.g., calculations, report writing, options study)
Reviews and checks the work of other process engineers to determine accuracy and completeness.
Coordination of design inputs and design activities with other engineering disciplines in a team environment.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree (B. S.) / Chemical Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
Minimum of eight (8) years related experience and/or training.
Must have a valid driver's license, a good driving record, and be insurable under Merrick's insurance carrier.
Qualified candidates must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Professional Engineer License or the ability to attain PE at earliest opportunity.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office software and Internet software. In addition, experience in the following process software packages is a plus:
Aspen Hysys and/or AspenPlus
AFT Arrow
AFT Fathom
MathCad
SuperPro
Physical Requirements
The job requires the ability to sit for extended periods at a computer workstation.
Client facilities require site visits to gather project information, which may require climbing ladders and stairs.
