Here's the Gist:

Join the pack at the JP! Wolfspeed is looking for a Sr. Process Engineer to join our Wafer Operations Process Engineering team at the world's largest silicon carbide manufacturing complex in Siler City, North Carolina.

In this role you will drive continuous improvement in the Global Materials organization through focused initiatives on yield, cycle time, and cost reduction. You will utilize data to drive actions and own multiple projects that improve the equipment and process overall effectiveness.

This posting is for a position that will directly support operations at the John Palmour Manufacturing Center for Silicon Carbide, our expansion site in Siler City, NC. The person in this role will train at our Durham, NC headquarters initially. Individuals in this role will work 8-hour days on either a Sunday-Thursday or Tuesday-Saturday pattern in order to support 24x7 manufacturing operations at our site.

The Day-to-Day:

• Support continuous improvement projects aimed at yield, cycle time, and cost reduction

• Responsible for tracking and improving critical process metrics

• Analyze data using sound statistical methodology to drive improvements in equipment and process metrics

• Support and lead in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) teams that drive to true root cause and implement effective Corrective and Preventative Actions (CAPAs)

• Create and maintain documentation such as Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Work Instructions (WI)

• Work closely with the Equipment Engineering team to drive reliability, yield, & other improvements

This Job is Right for You if You Have:

• A Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Preferably Mechanical, Chemical, Material Science, Electrical, Industrial, or related)

• Demonstrated organizational and communication skills

• Demonstrated ability to work with a high level of autonomy and as part of a team, taking ownership of tasks and projects

• Willing to work in non-cleanroom and cleanroom type environments

• MS Office suite proficiency

Preferred Qualifications:

• Front-end Semiconductor substrate processing experience

• 2+ years in manufacturing, equipment, reliability or process engineering role

• Working knowledge and experience of applied statistics (SPC/DOE) and structured problem-solving methods such as 8D, 5 whys, A3 and DMAIC in a manufacturing environment.

• Experience with highly automated material handling systems
